**About The Division:**

The Communications and Information Services (CIS) Division provides a variety of professional creative, media and technology services for the Comptroller's office. We design, develop and maintain the Comptroller’s website; write, edit and produce campaigns, publications and reports; provide Spanish translation services; develop high\-quality multimedia marketing materials; manage agency social media accounts; and serve as the Comptroller’s press liaison.

Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week with occasional evenings, weekend hours and holidays. Hours may change based on business need. Eligible for telework two days per week following 90 days of employment.

**Qualifications** **Minimum Qualifications:**

**Education:**

* Graduation from an accredited four\-year college or university with Bachelor’s degree

**Preferred Education:**

* Major course work in computer science, application/web development, management information systems, digital communication or other technical related studies

**Experience:**

* Minimum four (4\) years’ experience in frontend web development and management of complex websites utilizing PHP and Javascript, and/or other programming languages. * Understanding of responsive web design and best user experience practices. * Knowledge of creating websites accessible across different browsers (require samples to demonstrate work experience)

**Preferred Experience: One** (1\) year experience with any of the following:

* Hands\-on experience with modern JavaScript framework * Experience working within content management systems * Object\-oriented programming * Familiar with Git and/or other version control tools

**Substitution:**

* One (1\) additional year of the full\-time minimum experience as stated above may substitute for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education with a maximum of 120 semester hours (four years).

*Please submit two or three (no more than three will be evaluated) website samples that you personally worked on within the past six years. For each sample, include the URL along with a short description outlining: the website’s objective, the customer or organization it was developed for, the year it was created and the specific role you played in its development. This information will help us accurately assess your experience and contributions.***In this role you will:**

**Develops, updates and maintains static and dynamic web pages**

* Uses PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, APIs and/or other object\-oriented programming for Comptroller websites and online applications. * Coordinates file deployment to agency web servers with web team members and other agency personnel. * Ensures web pages meet Section 508 accessibility standards.

**Develops innovative web solutions that meet agency and user needs with respect to usability, functionality and performance.**

* Coordinates the coding, debugging and testing of web content integration and the preparation of content and data. * Assists in preparing detailed analyses, plans, diagrams and verification procedures for existing and proposed applications. * Uses coding structure that follows agency and division guidelines * Uses appropriate coding techniques, including agency\-approved AI resources * Maintains division systems and programs’ document files * Prepares reports, provides status information and responds to requests

**Provides responsive support to internal customers by assisting with web page and site updates and serves as a point of contact for questions from both internal and external customers.**

**Other duties as assigned.**

**Knowledge of:**

* the capabilities and limitations of computer systems * advanced Javascript, PHP, HTML5, CSS, jQuery, CMS, object\-oriented programming and current website technology * presentation and automation of online Web content/data * Dreamweaver, BBEdit or similar Web editing software * MySQL database solutions * Web version control experience and applications * Techniques and applications used in the responsive design of Web pages * Federal Section 508 accessibility standards * Web\-usability concepts * Design standards for aesthetic * State agency policies * Comptroller of Public Accounts and agency main functions

**Skill in:**

* Utilizing approved AI coding tools for enhanced and efficient web design, user interface and coding. * Integrating APIs for automated connections withing the website * using a MAC book pro personal computer to perform high level Web development work * Effectively conveying information and encouraging an exchange of ideas. * Identifying, defining, and solving problems.

**Ability to:**

* actively contribute to goals and objectives for the agency’s websites in a strong team environment through collaboration, participation, acceptance of majority decisions and sharing of ideas * demonstrate strong desire to learn new technologies and solutions for achieving maximum effectiveness * Maintain confidentiality and protect the privacy of state employees, taxpayers, and other members of the public. * Follow all agency confidentiality, privacy, and information security policies and procedures. * Appropriately store, secure, and protect sensitive records and other confidential documents and data in accordance with the agency’s certified Records Retention Schedule. * Seek guidance and clarification from relevant agency specialists when potential confidential issues arise. * Use discretion and appropriate judgement in communicating confidential and sensitive information. * Work with others to achieve a common goal. * Adjust to changing workplace demands. * Meet the needs and expectations of internal and external customers. * Effectively demonstrate skill and ability to perform the specific job duties and tasks as defined by a job description. * Be dependable, meet deadlines and produce high\-quality work.
