The Mid-Level Structural Revit Modeler is responsible for developing, managing, and delivering accurate 3D structural models and complete 2D construction documentation sets. Working closely with Structural Engineers and BIM Managers, you will translate structural engineering designs (concrete, steel, timber, and masonry) into clash-free, coordinated building models using Autodesk Revit Structure.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of professional experience working specifically as a Structural Revit Modeler or Technician.
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Drafting, Architecture, or a related technical discipline.
- Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit Structure and AutoCAD.
- BIM Tools: Proven experience working with Revit work-sharing (central models), work sets, phases, design options, and linked models.
- Material Knowledge: Strong understanding of standard building materials and construction methods (reinforced concrete detailing, structural steel framing, etc.).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Structural Modelling: Create highly detailed 3D structural models in Revit, including foundations, framing (columns, beams, trusses), structural slabs, retaining walls, and reinforcement details.
- Drawing Production: Generate comprehensive structural drafting packages, including general arrangement plans, sections, elevations, schedules, and complex standard connection details.
- Multi-Discipline Coordination: Link and coordinate structural models with architectural and MEP models to proactively resolve spatial conflicts and clashes before construction.
- Family Creation: Modify and develop parametric Revit families (such as custom structural shapes, adaptive components, and annotations) according to project needs.
- BIM Standards Compliance: Ensure all models and documentation adhere to the project's BIM Execution Plan (BEP), company modelling protocols, naming conventions, and layering standards.
- Design Updates: Efficiently process structural engineering markups, redlines, and requests for information (RFIs) throughout all design stages (Concept to Construction)
SOFT SKILLS
- Spatial Awareness: Strong ability to visualize structures in 3D space from 2D sketches or concept notes.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying design discrepancies or model errors and suggesting solutions to engineers.
- Communication: Ability to collaborate seamlessly with internal engineering teams and external consultants
