JOB DISCRIPTION FOR SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER BACK END:
- Design, implement, and maintain the software that powers our backend systems.
- Write high-quality, testable, and scalable code.
- Take ownership of features from start to finish, including design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Handle short-term and long-term projects concurrently and adjust on-the-fly as priorities change.
- Understand the business domain and how our products fit into the larger picture.
- Work closely with other teams to deliver features end-to-end.
- Help improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
- Proactively identify and fix issues in existing code.
- Provide input on technical decisions and trade-offs.
- Mentor less experienced engineers.
- Handle sensitive data with care and adhere to security best practices.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends.
TECHNICAL SKILL:
- Expert in Python, with knowledge of at least one Python web framework (such as Django, Flask, etc depending on your technology stack)
- Familiarity with some ORM (Object Relational Mapper) libraries.
- Hands-on experience in Rest APIs, Postman, Swagger is important.
- Good working knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, HTML5 in web apps.
- Understanding of accessibility and security compliance (depending on the specific project)
- Knowledge of user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments.
- Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
- Experience developing backend systems and RESTful web services.
- Able to create and manage Relational and NoSQL database schemas, Indexes, joins to represent business entities and processes
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience with DevOps tools and practices, such as CI/CD pipelines, automation, and monitoring.
- Experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture.
- Strong understanding of security best practices.
- Strong unit test and debugging skills.
