**In this role, you'll:**
**The Project:**
The Western Harbour Tunnel and Warringah Freeway Upgrade (WHTWFU) is one of NSW's most significant transport infrastructure projects, delivering major road network improvements, tunnelling works and upgrades to one of Sydney's busiest transport corridors.
As part of the project team, you will play a critical role in supporting environmental compliance and sustainability outcomes during construction, working closely with contractors, project teams and key stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered in accordance with planning approvals, environmental obligations and best practice environmental management.
**You will:**
* Provide senior environmental and sustainability support to the Western Harbour Tunnel and Warringah Freeway Upgrade project throughout construction delivery. * Partner closely with delivery teams and contractors to identify environmental risks, resolve environmental issues and drive practical compliance outcomes across complex construction activities. * Conduct site inspections, compliance verifications and environmental audits to monitor performance against project approvals, contractual requirements and environmental management plans. * Review contractor environmental management documentation, technical reports, monitoring results and environmental performance data, providing clear and risk\-based recommendations. * Support the implementation of Conditions of Approval, management plans, environmental protection measures and sustainability commitments across the project. * Investigate environmental incidents, non\-conformances and emerging risks, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are developed and effectively implemented. * Provide expert advice to project managers, engineers and contractors on environmental compliance obligations and construction environmental management requirements. * Prepare and contribute to environmental reporting, regulatory responses, management reviews and project governance processes. * Influence multidisciplinary project teams to achieve high environmental standards while maintaining safe and efficient project delivery.

About you
You are an experienced environmental professional with a strong track record working on major infrastructure construction projects.
You understand how major projects are delivered and are comfortable working directly with contractor teams to achieve practical environmental outcomes in a dynamic and fast\-paced environment.
**You bring:**
* Demonstrated experience supporting environmental compliance and environmental management during the construction phase of major infrastructure projects. * Strong knowledge of NSW environmental legislation, planning approvals and compliance obligations, particularly in relation to large\-scale construction projects. * Experience conducting environmental inspections, audits and compliance monitoring activities across active construction sites. * Demonstrated ability to review and provide technical feedback on environmental management plans, monitoring reports, investigations and other contractor submissions. * Experience working collaboratively with contractors, engineers and project delivery teams to manage environmental risks and implement practical solutions. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise technical reports and present complex environmental matters to project stakeholders. * Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Planning or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience on Major Projects is essential.
