Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Metal Drafting and Detailing professional to join our innovative team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise, comprehensive drawings and schematics for structural steel components and miscellaneous metals used in a variety of construction projects. Your expertise will ensure that designs are accurately translated into detailed plans that facilitate seamless fabrication and installation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities by delivering high-quality drafting services that meet project specifications and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D drafting models of structural steel frameworks and miscellaneous metal components using CAD software.
- Create accurate schematics, shop drawings, and fabrication details aligned with project requirements, codes, and safety standards.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, fabricators, and construction teams to interpret design concepts and ensure clarity in drawings.
- Utilize advanced tools such as SketchUp, NavisWorks, Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Schematics to enhance design precision.
- Review project specifications, blueprints, and technical documents to produce comprehensive detailing packages.
- Assist in resolving design conflicts or discrepancies during the detailing process through effective communication and problem-solving.
- Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and project documentation for easy access and version control.
Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, SketchUp, NavisWorks, Civil 3D, and Schematics.
- Strong understanding of structural steel detailing principles and miscellaneous metal fabrication processes.
- Experience with construction projects involving steel structures or metal works is highly preferred.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications accurately.
- Skilled in 2D drafting as well as 3D modeling for visualization purposes such as 2D animation or walkthroughs.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of industry standards related to structural steel detailing and safety regulations.
