Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Industrial Manufacturing Machinery Design, Build Project Manage, and Commissioning.
Location: Bayswater, WA
We are a growing WA-based manufacturer supplying engineered Structural Building systems to the commercial construction industry.
As Production demand increases, we need to improve our processes for both efficiency, capacity, predictability, staff safety, quality consistancy, and LSS implementation.
To do this we consider that including in our team a Senior Mech. Design Engineer would greatly assist in making rapid immediate progress, and then support a culture of continuous improvement, which we urgently want to have and control and maintain In-House.

What you’ll be doing:
- Assisting with an immediate review of our current processes and developing an ultimate LSS flow goal
- Identifying bottlenecks in our current processes, helping value potential solutions on a cost/immediate benefit outcome basis
- Conceptualising new machinery, and improvements to existing machinery in order of priority identified in the cost/benefit analysis
- Completing full detailed Mechanical designs for the same and developing working drawings
- Specifying OEM components, such as bearings, actuators, and servo motors, to complete your designs
- Working with contract Mechatronics Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Process Control Engineers, and Electronics Engineers, to complete the ultimate functionality and control of your designs
- Project Managing the resourcing of your design components and specified OEM equipment, and All switch gear and control interfaces, and the supply of outsourced PLC and other controls, and programming thereof, to deliver operational components to the production line that result in real and measurable, time, space, safety, quality, cost and efficiency saving outcomes
- Completing all project documentation and production information for company assets registers and records.
- Learning and developing expertise in our proprietary systems
