At TSA Riley, we’re more than a project consultancy – we’re a team of over 1,000 experts helping clients realise the transformative power of built assets. From infrastructure and transport to education, health and property, the work we do shapes how communities connect, live, work and grow.

Our Canberra team has been part of the local market since 2001. Today, it is a collaborative and energetic team delivering significant projects across the ACT.

We’re now looking for a Project Manager and an Assistant Project Manager to join our growing Project Management team.

About the Opportunities

These are hands-on, client-side positions offering the opportunity to take an active role in major property projects, supported by experienced leaders and a close-knit local team.

Project Manager

You’ll support a significant commercial refurbishment project, working with a property owner to reposition an existing asset. The project includes the full electrification of the building and preparation for an incoming tenant, with delivery anticipated over the next two to three years.

The role will require strong stakeholder management, construction knowledge and the confidence to coordinate consultants, contractors, the client and other project participants.

Assistant Project Manager

You’ll work on a major new-build fit-out for a Commonwealth Government department. The project is progressing through design and construction and is expected to continue for approximately two years.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain meaningful project delivery experience rather than being limited to administrative support. You’ll work alongside experienced project leaders and contribute directly to design coordination, construction activities, program management and stakeholder engagement.

What You’ll Be Doing

Depending on your experience and appointed level, your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting or managing projects through design, procurement, construction and completion
  • Coordinating design consultants, contractors and client stakeholders
  • Monitoring project programs, milestones, risks and deliverables
  • Participating in design reviews, site meetings and project workshops
  • Preparing project reports, meeting documentation and client updates
  • Managing stakeholder expectations and maintaining clear communication
  • Identifying project risks and supporting practical mitigation strategies
  • Monitoring quality, time, cost and scope requirements
  • Taking ownership of assigned project activities and following them through to completion
  • Supporting successful handover and project close-out.

About You

You are a proactive and collaborative property professional who enjoys being closely involved in project delivery. You take responsibility for your work, communicate confidently and build positive relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.

You will ideally bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in construction management, architecture, engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience in project management, construction, design or property consultancy
  • Exposure to commercial refurbishment, workplace fit-out or new-build projects
  • An understanding of design coordination and construction programs
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and follow through on commitments
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach
  • Site-based or construction delivery experience, which will be highly regarded.

Candidates will be considered at either Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager level , depending on their experience and capability.

Security Requirements

Due to the nature of the projects, applicants must:

  • Be an Australian citizen
  • Hold the required Australian Government security clearance at the appropriate level, or meet the requirements to obtain and maintain one.

Why Choose TSA Riley?

Joining our Canberra team means becoming part of a well-established local business with a supportive, vibrant culture and a strong pipeline of long-term projects.

You’ll benefit from:

  • Clear opportunities for career development and progression
  • Hands-on involvement in significant property projects
  • Support and mentoring from experienced project leaders
  • A young, collaborative and welcoming Canberra office
  • Exposure to projects across different clients and sectors
  • Flexible working hours built around project and client needs
  • A workplace where people are encouraged to take ownership and build their capability.

The positions are primarily office-based, with project sites located within walking distance of the Canberra office.

If you’re looking to build your career through meaningful project experience and want to join a team that values collaboration, initiative and professional growth, we’d love to hear from you.
