Job Title: Project Coordinator, UBC Bridge to Red Seal Program

Job Type: Temporary Term Position – Leave Coverage

Term Duration: Undetermined - dependent on the employee’s return to work Location: Remote

Reports To: Project Director and Program Manager, UBC Bridge to Red Seal Program

Salary: $80,000-$100,000

Position Overview:

The Project Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the UBC Bridge to Red Seal Program, an initiative designed to assist internationally trained trades professionals in achieving recognition for their foreign credentials and obtaining Red Seal certification. The Coordinator will work closely with the Program Manager to ensure the smooth operation of daily project activities, assist with participant case management, and liaise with stakeholders. This position is ideal for a highly organized individual with a passion for supporting newcomers in the skilled trades.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Support and Coordination:
  • Assist the Program Manager in the day-to-day management and coordination of the UBC Bridge to Red Seal Program.
  • Help maintain project timelines and ensure that milestones are met according to the project plan.
  • Coordinate communication between project staff, participants, and external partners.
  • Any additional task as assigned by the Program manager or Director. 2. Participant Case Management and Support: ====================================================
  • Support the case management of internationally trained professionals (ITPs) by assisting with the assessment and tracking of participant progress.

  • Help ITPs navigate provincial apprenticeship systems and secure their Prior Learning Assessment Recognition (PLAR).

  • Coordinate the delivery of English as an Additional Language (EAL) assessments and provide participants with access to language upgrading resources.

  • Assist with coordinating translation and accommodation services for participants as needed. 3. Outreach and Recruitment: =====================================

  • Assist with the implementation of the program’s marketing and outreach plan to recruit participants, targeting trade workers with foreign credentials across Canada.

  • Develop relationships with newcomer associations, apprenticeship offices, and employers to support participant recruitment.

  • Respond to inquiries from prospective participants and provide information about the program. 4. Data Collection and Reporting: ==========================================

  • Collect and organize data on participant progress, including pre-and post-program assessments, and ensure data is accurately recorded.

  • Assist in developing and distributing evaluation tools such as surveys to gather feedback from participants. 5. Training and Assessment Coordination: =================================================

  • Coordinate the delivery of trade-specific assessments and bridge training for participants.

  • Assist in the scheduling and logistics of training sessions, including securing venues and materials.

  • Support participants in accessing study materials, resources, and accommodations for the Red Seal exam.

Term Details: This is a temporary term position providing coverage for an employee on leave. The duration of the term is currently undetermined and will be dependent on the employee’s return to work.

Qualifications:

===================

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a project coordination or support role, preferably in a trades or apprenticeship-related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience working with internationally trained professionals or in a multicultural setting is an asset.
  • Familiarity with the Red Seal certification process or provincial apprenticeship systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Additional languages would be considered an asset.

Additional Qualifications
