About us

UCL’s Organisational Development team supports more than 19,000 colleagues across academic, research, teaching and professional services roles. As a centre of expertise within People & Culture, we ensure that UCL has the learning, talent and organisational structures needed to deliver its strategy and People Plan.

The Organisational Capability & Transformation team shapes the strategic capabilities UCL needs to achieve its academic mission and long-term ambitions. We bring together expertise in workforce capability and planning, employee experience and engagement, talent management, digital transformation and organisational change.

Working collaboratively across People & Culture, Information Services, Faculties and Professional Services, we deliver institution-wide initiatives that strengthen organisational performance, improve colleague experience and build future workforce capability.

UCL is deeply committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. Creating equity of opportunity is central to our approach to talent, learning, leadership development and organisational change.

About the role

As Senior OD Consultant (Employee Experience & Transformation), you will lead the development of evidence-based approaches to employee experience, engagement and colleague voice across UCL.

You will take strategic ownership of UCL’s Staff Experience Survey and wider employee-listening activities, translating colleague feedback and organisational data into clear insights and practical recommendations. You will develop a coherent listening strategy using approaches such as pulse surveys, focus groups and employee panels, helping UCL build a culture of continuous listening, learning and improvement.

Working closely with senior leaders, People & Culture colleagues and transformation teams, you will provide expert organisational development and change consultancy across major university-wide programmes. You will lead people and organisational change workstreams, assessing change readiness, identifying risks and developing strategies that support successful adoption and sustainable impact.

You will also help strengthen UCL’s Employee Value Proposition and improve the colleague experience across key stages of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, career development, performance, learning, leadership and organisational change.

A further focus of the role will be providing strategic leadership for the employee experience roadmap within UCL’s Thrive digital ecosystem. You will work with digital and product teams to translate employee insight into development priorities and explore how emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, could enhance employee experience and workforce capability.

As a trusted adviser, you will use evidence, organisational insight and specialist OD expertise to challenge constructively, influence decisions and shape strategic priorities across UCL.

About you

You will be an experienced organisational development, employee experience or change professional with a strong record of delivering complex, organisation-wide initiatives. You will have expertise in employee engagement and listening, using qualitative and quantitative insight to develop clear, practical recommendations. An effective programme and stakeholder manager, you will be confident advising and influencing senior leaders, building relationships across multidisciplinary teams and supporting sustainable organisational change. You will also bring a strong commitment to inclusion, colleague voice and equity of opportunity, alongside an interest in how digital solutions and emerging technologies can improve employee experience and organisational capability.
