This is a great opportunity to be a key member of the Operations Team as a Ship Manager overseeing shore based operational, technical and financial activities for marine construction projects (ship repair, dry-docking, refit and conversion).
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day activities on a designated Ship repair project.
Implement and maintain processes and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of ship operations.
Coordinate all production trade disciplines & subcontract supply chain to execute work specifications in a timely and efficient manner.
Optimise resourcing levels, monitoring performance and outputs.
Review technical specifications to understand the scope of work and identify any variations to the specifications and cost/submit variations to the owner’s representative for approval.
Accountable for the project P&L relating to project costs for all subcontractor, labour, consumable, and material costs.
Conduct routine vessel and site inspections to identify, mitigate, and eliminate hazards and unsafe practices.
Collaborate with the QHSE Manager to ensure full compliance with company Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) management systems.
Lead Project Progress Meetings and other meetings as required.
Support other departments and communicate with customers, sub-contractors and suppliers, project management teams and production departments.

Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
Ability to motivate and to engage with a variety of stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Commercial awareness.
Ability to evaluate sub-contractors and supplier quotations.
Qualifications
Technical or time-served trade qualification.
Full UK driving licence
Knowledge
Experience within the marine engineering or related industry.
