UNITED WORKERS’ UNION - A NEW CHAPTER. A RENEWED FOCUS. JOIN US

United Workers Union is entering an exciting new chapter.

With new leadership comes renewed purpose, fresh energy and a clear ambition: to build the strongest organising union in Australia that wins for workers.

We are looking for a passionate, driven and values-based Digital Campaign Lead who wants to be part of one of Australia’s largest and most influential unions. The roles are based in any major capital city and are offered on a full-time ongoing basis.

ABOUT UNION WORKERS’ UNION

We believe unions are strongest when members lead.

That’s why, United Workers Union is one of Australia’s largest and fastest-growing member-led unions, representing workers across a diverse range of industries that keep our communities running every day. Our members work in aged care; early education; hospitality; logistics; manufacturing; health; cleaning; disability support; warehousing; food production and many other sectors.

Every day we organise to improve the lives of working people and create lasting change.

We do this by pulling every lever to build worker power – growing membership, developing workplace leaders, supporting delegates, organising collective action and campaigning for better wages, safer workplaces and fairer communities, including campaigning both politically and in the community. The United Workers Union is proudly affiliated with the Australian Labor Party.

As we move into our next chapter, we are investing in growing our organising capability, developing our people and strengthening member-led campaigns across the country.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Digital Campaign Lead, you will work alongside members to build workplace power and deliver meaningful outcomes. This role is about far more than resolving workplace issues. It is about empowering organisers to lead, building sustainable workplace strength and helping shape the future of our Union.

This is more than a lead role. You will help shape campaigns, enforce workplace rights and contribute to winning lasting improvements for members across Australia.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute digital strategies and multi-channel campaigns (search, social, email, and display) aligned with union goals.
  • SEO & SEM: Drive organic visibility through keyword research and website optimisation, and manage cost-effective paid search (PPC) campaigns.
  • Social Media & Community Building: Create compelling content for Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and LinkedIn to boost engagement, mobilisation, and long-term member growth.
  • Email & Content Marketing: Design targeted email campaigns and collaborate with creators to produce shareable assets (blogs, videos, and case studies) that resonate with workers.
  • Brand, Reputation & Crisis Support: Protect and enhance UWU’s brand identity, monitor online sentiment, and support timely crisis communications.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Track key performance indicators (KPIs)—including traffic, engagement, conversion rates, and ROI—using analytics tools like Google Analytics.
  • Collaboration & Innovation: Partner across UWU portfolios for cohesive messaging, liaise with external vendors, stay current on digital trends, and experiment with new formats.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for people who are passionate about and committed to improving the lives of the members we represent.

You are someone who:

  • Experience: Proven experience in digital marketing or digital campaigning (2+ years preferred), with a strong track record of successful multi-channel execution.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in digital tools and platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Business Suite/Facebook Business Manager, SEO tools, and CMS platforms).
  • Analytics: Solid knowledge of website and campaign analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex industrial issues into compelling narratives.
  • Collaboration: Proven experience working both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Values: Commitment to and understanding of UWU’s values and priorities.

To perform this job, you will also be required to have or obtain and maintain:

  • A valid driver’s licence; and
  • Right of Entry Permits.

Applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia and will be required to provide evidence of their work rights as part of the recruitment process.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive salary and generous employment conditions;
  • A motor vehicle or motor vehicle allowance;
  • 16% superannuation;
  • 6 weeks annual leave plus 25% leave loading;
  • Flexible work arrangements;
  • Supportive leadership committed to developing people;
  • A diverse, inclusive and values driven workplace;
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference in workers’ lives.

DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION

Our members come from every background imaginable, and we want our workforce to reflect that diversity.

We welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people with disability, LGBTQIA+ people and anyone who shares our commitment to fairness, inclusion and worker justice.

JOIN THE NEXT CHAPTER

If you want to be part of a Union entering an exciting new era and are looking for meaningful work, ambitious colleagues and the opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of working people, we would love to hear from you.

Together, we’ll build stronger workplaces, stronger communities and a stronger union.

HOW TO APPLY

Please submit your resume along with a cover letter addressing the Selection Criteria (listed under Who We’re Looking For) to Julie Korlevska, Deputy Director (People, Culture and Change) via the Dayforce careers page.

Closing Date: 4:00 PM (AEST), Thursday 12 October 2026
