The Role:

The Faculty of Technology at the University of Portsmouth, in collaboration with ABL 1 Touch, is seeking an innovative and motivated individual to join a strategically important Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project focused on developing and deploying AI-powered solutions for automated vehicle damage assessment and repair scheduling optimisation. Due to the project timescales, preference may be given to candidates who already have the right to work in the UK and are available to commence the role at short notice.

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a strong foundation in AI and software development, particularly LLM development experience, who is keen to apply innovative technologies within a commercial environment while developing leadership and project management skills.

Working closely with ABL's technical team and academic experts from the University of Portsmouth, you will further develop and deploy AI solutions for automated vehicle damage assessment, helping to deliver a strategically important innovation project with real business impact.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and able to demonstrate previous experience in a relevant role.

The Project:

This role forms part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), a collaborative project between ABL 1 Touch and the University of Portsmouth, awarded by Innovate UK. Please refer to the additional information on becoming a KTP Associate attached to this advert.

The project is developing AI-powered solutions that combine machine learning and computer vision to automate vehicle damage assessment and enhance operational decision-making. By leveraging ABL's extensive repair data and technical expertise, the project aims to improve estimation accuracy, increase efficiency, and support the company's continued growth.

The project is already underway, and the successful candidate will join an established team to further develop and deploy AI-driven solutions within the business.
