Role description Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Engineer with strong expertise in Manual Testing and working knowledge of Automation Testing using Katalon Studio. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in testing web applications, creating test cases, executing functional and regression tests, and collaborating with development teams to deliver high-quality software.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Analyze business and functional requirements to create comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
- Perform manual testing, including functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, sanity, exploratory, and user acceptance testing.
- Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Katalon Studio for regression and repetitive test scenarios.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using defect management tools such as Jira.
- Validate APIs using Postman or similar API testing tools.
- Perform database validation using SQL queries.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and resolve issues.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Prepare test execution reports, defect metrics, and quality status updates.
- Support production deployments by performing smoke testing and post-release validation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, standards, and test automation.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in Manual Testing (approximately 80% of responsibilities).
- Hands-on experience with Katalon Studio for test automation (approximately 20% of responsibilities).
- Experience with functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, sanity, and UAT testing.
- Knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and defect lifecycle management.
- Experience using Jira or similar defect tracking tools.
- Knowledge of API testing using Postman.
- Basic to intermediate SQL skills for database validation.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins//Harness.
- Knowledge of cross-browser and cross-platform testing.
- Familiarity with test management tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, or ALM.
- Web Services, eCommerce systems, Data and Application Integration, SOA, web or other development experience
Client-side: HTML & CSS, JS
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 4–8 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
- Relevant testing or automation certifications are an added advantage.
