Your Mission: VÆRIDION is developing sustainable electric aviation solutions that will redefine regional air mobility. Our Technology division combines aerospace engineering, software development, systems engineering, and certification expertise to deliver highly reliable and certifiable aviation products. As Senior DevOps & Engineering Platform Engineer (all genders), you will play a key role in shaping VÆRIDION's engineering ecosystem. Working at the intersection of software engineering, systems engineering, IT, and aerospace certification, you will design, build, and operate the engineering platforms and cloud infrastructure that enable the development of next-generation electric aircraft. The position is responsible for establishing and continuously evolving the infrastructure that supports software development, model-based design, simulation, testing, traceability, verification, validation, and certification activities across the organization. Through the implementation of modern DevOps practices and automation strategies, the role enables engineering teams to develop, test, and certify products efficiently while meeting the stringent requirements of the aerospace industry. Success in this position requires a strong combination of cloud architecture expertise, DevOps and platform engineering experience, software development knowledge, understanding of regulated aerospace development processes, and excellent stakeholder management skills. Within the first 12 months, the role is expected to establish a scalable engineering platform used for VÆRIDION’s airborne battery system, automate significant portions of software development and certification workflows, integrate MathWorks and Model-Based Design toolchains into the CI/CD environment, enable automated SIL, PIL, and HIL verification pipelines, establish end-to-end traceability from requirements to verification evidence, and create a robust foundation for future aircraft software certification activities. Your Day-to-Day: Architect, implement, and maintain the company's engineering platform. Build scalable development environments supporting all engineering disciplines. Administer cloud-based infrastructure and services. Ensure security, availability, backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring. Manage infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles. Drive platform standardization and self-service capabilities for engineering teams. Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for software, models, simulations, and test artifacts. Automate build, verification, validation, deployment, and reporting processes. Implement automated quality gates and traceability workflows. Introduce DevOps best practices across the organization. Support release management and configuration management processes. Integrate MathWorks toolchains into the development lifecycle. Connect model-generated code with software repositories. Automate model verification, code generation, testing, and reporting activities. Support compliance-oriented development processes. Build tooling and workflows supporting aviation standards and certification activities. Automate traceability between requirements, models, source code, test cases, and verification evidence. Support development processes aligned with standards such as DO-178C and DO-330. Generate and maintain certification evidence through automated workflows. Act as the primary interface between Engineering and Corporate IT. Align engineering tooling with cybersecurity and IT governance requirements. Support engineering teams in adopting new workflows and tools. Focus predominantly on the Technology division, supporting the vertically integrated development of the Propulsion Battery System. Work closely with software, systems, battery, controls, and certification engineers. Provide technical leadership regarding development infrastructure and automation. Your Profile: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. More than 5 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Software Infrastructure. Experience in safety-critical or regulated industries, such as aerospace, automotive, medical devices, railway, or industrial automation. Experience building engineering platforms from the ground up (desirable). Hands-on experience with CI/CD technologies: Git, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins and Docker. Strong scripting and development skills in Python, Bash, and PowerShell. Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog. Working knowledge of security and compliance practices, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and DevSecOps practices. Knowledge of cybersecurity requirements for aviation systems (desirable). Experience with one or more verification and test automation environments: Speedgoat, Simulink Real-Time, Jenkins-based test orchestration or Python-based test frameworks. Familiarity with test and validation technologies, including SIL (Software-in-the-Loop), PIL (Processor-in-the-Loop), HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop), continuous verification and validation, automated regression testing, test management and reporting, and requirements traceability. Hands-on experience with the MathWorks toolchain: MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, Embedded Coder, Simulink Test, Simulink Coverage, Polyspace, Requirements Toolbox, MATLAB Test, and System Composer. Experience with Model-Based Development (MBD) and automatic code generation. Experience with MBSE and SysML (desirable). Experience with DO-178C compliant software development (desirable). Experience supporting certification audits (desirable). Knowledge of aircraft systems and avionics development (desirable). You think systemically and enjoy building engineering ecosystems. You communicate effectively with engineers, IT departments, and management. You are highly organized and quality-focused, and you thrive in regulated and safety-critical environments. You have a passion for automation and continuous improvement, take ownership, and can independently drive complex initiatives. You can translate engineering needs into scalable technical solutions.
