We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Shopify Developer to build, maintain, and improve our D2C e-commerce storefront.
You will work closely with the founders, designers, marketing team, and e-commerce stakeholders to develop responsive storefront experiences, launch new pages and features, improve website speed, and increase conversion rates.
This is a hands-on development role requiring strong Shopify, Liquid, JavaScript, and front-end development skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, customise, and maintain Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Convert Figma or design files into accurate, responsive Shopify pages.
- Build reusable theme sections, templates, blocks, and components.
- Create and improve product pages, collection pages, landing pages, and promotional pages.
- Implement new functionality while maintaining performance and code quality.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Shopify apps and third-party integrations.
- Work with Shopify APIs, webhooks, metafields, metaobjects, and product data.
- Improve Core Web Vitals, page-loading speed, and mobile performance.
- Diagnose and resolve storefront bugs, checkout issues, tracking errors, and compatibility problems.
- Support product launches, promotions, discounts, bundles, and seasonal campaigns.
- Collaborate with designers and marketers on conversion-rate optimisation.
- Implement analytics, pixels, events, and tracking in coordination with the performance-marketing team.
- Test work across devices, browsers, screen sizes, and customer journeys.
- Maintain backups, documentation, version control, and deployment processes.
- Monitor website health and respond quickly to critical technical issues.
- Recommend practical improvements to user experience, scalability, and conversion rates.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of hands-on Shopify development experience.
- Strong knowledge of Shopify Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Experience customising existing themes and building sections or templates.
- Understanding of Shopify products, collections, variants, metafields, and theme architecture.
- Experience converting Figma designs into responsive web pages.
- Knowledge of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
- Experience integrating and troubleshooting third-party Shopify apps.
- Familiarity with Shopify APIs, Git, and version-control workflows.
- Understanding of website speed, technical SEO, and Core Web Vitals.
- Strong debugging, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage tasks independently and meet agreed timelines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with fashion, luxury, lifestyle, retail, or D2C brands.
- Familiarity with Shopify Markets, international storefronts, and multi-currency setups.
- Experience with GA4, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, and e-commerce event tracking.
- Understanding of conversion-rate optimisation and A/B testing.
- Familiarity with Shopify CLI, JSON templates, and Online Store 2.0.
- Experience with custom applications or back-end integrations is an advantage.
