THE ROLE
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for understanding the system and data needs of the Social Services Regulator (SSR) and translating them into effective solutions. They will work closely with stakeholders to ensure data is effectively collected, stored, processed and made available for analysis and decision making. This role is suited for individuals who enjoy problem-solving and have a passion for data, technology and its application in real-world scenarios.
Applicants should possess strong data modelling skills, have an excellent ability to manipulate data and create effective data insights, which tell stories to facilitate understanding, implications and significance of data shown. Applicants should also have strong written skills, an ability to apply big picture strategic thinking to detailed analytical work, sound time management skills, and be highly collaborative.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Ensures data is effectively and securely collected, stored, processed and made available for analysis and decision making and recommends appropriate technologies for data management, storage and analysis. Designing conceptual and logical data models, defining data structures and relationships.
- Design scripts and tools to automatically extract large volumes of data from data sources to improve efficiency and availability. Defining data flow, usage and integration processes within the organisation.
- Ensures data is managed according to relevant government frameworks and policies, promoting data quality and security. Preparing and provision of datasets for a range of reporting purposes, departmental accountability reporting, responses to oversight inquiries, media requests, questions on notice, and other regular and ad hoc requests.
- Proactively build and maintain positive working relationships across the Social Services Regulator and work in collaboration with key stakeholders, supporting, planning, managing and delivering projects relating to analysis and reporting, including effective collaboration and engagement across regulatory and operational areas to harness expert input and meet customer and stakeholder needs.
