Company Plant Manager / Plant Head – CNC Manufacturing

Position: Plant Manager / Plant Head Industry: CNC Machining / Precision Manufacturing Department: Production & Operations Experience: 12–20 Years Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Plant Manager / Plant Head to oversee the complete manufacturing operations of a CNC machining plant. The candidate will be responsible for production planning, operational efficiency, quality, manpower management, machine utilization, cost control, maintenance coordination, and achieving production targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and control the overall day-to-day operations of the CNC manufacturing plant.
  • Plan and achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
  • Manage CNC/VMC/HMC/VTL machining operations and ensure optimum machine utilization.
  • Monitor OEE, productivity, rejection, rework, downtime, and cycle time.
  • Develop production plans based on customer orders and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure timely completion and dispatch of customer orders.
  • Lead and manage Production, Quality, Maintenance, PPC, Stores, and related teams.
  • Optimize manpower, machines, tools, fixtures, materials, and other resources.
  • Monitor production costs and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Purchase, Stores, Quality, Maintenance, and Sales teams.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Reduce rejection, scrap, rework, and machine downtime.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance activities are completed on time.
  • Review CNC programs, tooling, cutting parameters, fixtures, and process improvements where required.
  • Implement 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and statutory requirements.
  • Conduct daily/weekly production review meetings and report plant performance to management.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop SOPs, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, cutting tools, consumables, and finished goods.
  • Train, develop, and motivate supervisors, engineers, operators, and other plant personnel.
  • Handle manpower planning, shift planning, discipline, and performance management.
  • Work closely with customers and management on critical production and quality issues.
  • Ensure the plant achieves quality, productivity, delivery, and cost targets.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining and manufacturing processes
  • Experience in CNC/VMC/HMC/VTL production environments
  • Production planning and execution
  • Manpower and shift management
  • Knowledge of CNC tooling, fixtures, cutting tools, and machining parameters
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems and process control
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, TPM, and OEE
  • Cost-control and productivity improvement skills
  • Strong leadership and team-management abilities
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and production/ERP systems

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • 12–20 years of experience in CNC / precision machining / engineering manufacturing
  • Minimum 5 years in a managerial or plant-level leadership role
  • Experience handling multiple CNC machines and large production teams
  • Experience in automotive, auto components, engineering components, or precision machining will be preferred.
  • Strong track record of achieving production targets and improving plant productivity.

Reporting To: Managing Director / General Manager / Operations Head

Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
