We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and test mechanical components, machinery, and systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into technical specifications, create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings, and oversee the prototyping and production phases to ensure high quality and efficiency. Key Responsibilities

  • Product Design & Development: Create conceptual designs, 3D CAD models, and detailed 2D engineering drawings for mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Analysis & Simulation: Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and thermal or structural stress analysis to validate designs.
  • Material & Component Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate materials, manufacturing processes (e.g., injection moulding, sheet metal, casting), and standard components based on cost, weight, and performance.
  • GD&T Application: Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure proper fit, form, and function.
  • Prototyping & Testing: Build, test, and troubleshoot physical prototypes, analyzing failure modes and iterating designs for optimization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with manufacturing, tooling, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
  • Documentation: Maintain precise engineering documentation, including Bill of Materials (BOM), design revisions, engineering change orders (ECO), and technical manuals. Key Technical Skills
  • CAD Software: Proficiency in standard industry tools such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Creo Parametric (Pro/E), CATIA, or AutoCAD.
  • Simulation Tools: Experience with analysis software like ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, or Altair HyperMesh.
  • Engineering Principles: Deep understanding of kinematics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and strength of materials.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication, machining, plastic manufacturing, and casting processes. Soft Skills & Competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting design reviews to stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and precision.
  • Ability to work effectively in collaborative, cross-functional team environments. Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.E. / B.Tech) or Master’s degree (M.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience:
  • Entry-Level: 0–2 years of experience with strong academic project work and CAD certification.
  • Mid-Level: 3–6 years of proven product design experience in automotive, aerospace, heavy machinery, or consumer electronics industries.
