**Location:**Dudley **Hours of work:** Mon\-Thurs 7\.00am – 4\.00pm, Fri 7\.00am – 12\.15pm (39 hours) **Package:** Negotiable depending on experience, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, pension, EAP and more!
**About the Role:**
Responsible for building, maintaining, and improving the tooling that keeps a production facility running.
The core of the job is, tool changeovers, precision machining, tooling repair, preventative maintenance, and supporting manufacturing teams to ensure high\-quality, efficient production.
**Main duties:**
* Interpret engineering drawings to carry out tool changeovers, repair or modify tooling accurately. Manufacturer fixtures and jigs for new and existing product. * Operate precision workshop machinery, including: * Mills and lathes * Vertical milling machines * Centre lathes * Surface grinders * Bandsaw
**Experience and skills required:**
* Experience as a toolmaker, machinist, or tool \& die technician. * 3–5 years in a tool room or similar environment, experience in toolmaking, toolroom engineering, or precision machining. * Strong machining skills, including milling, turning, grinding, and CNC operation. * Knowledge of CAD, machining processes, and manufacturing drawings * CAD/CAM knowledge for tool design and modification. * Level 3 qualification in Mechanical/Engineering or equivalent. * Time\-served apprenticeship in toolmaking or engineering (often preferred). * Good numeracy, literacy, and PC skills. * Attention to detail, ability to work independently, and strong problem\-solving skills.
