We’re seeking veterinarians at all stages of their careers to join our OV Talent Pool for future opportunities. Whether you’re:

  • An experienced OV (current qualification)
  • An RCVS-registered vet looking to gain OV certification

…we’d love to hear from you!

Locations: Lincolnshire, Birmingham, Bristol, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Wiltshire, Warwickshire (map available on request)

What We Offer

  • Competitive Package – Salary, car or allowance, health plan, pension, retailer discounts, and RCVS fees covered.
  • Fully Funded OV Training – Provided through Bristol University for non-qualified candidates.
  • Relocation & Visa Support – Including fast-track sponsorship where required.
  • Work-Life Balance – Local assignments and manageable caseloads.
  • Career Growth – Be part of our “farm-to-fork” approach with opportunities across abattoirs, farms, exports/imports, TB testing, auditing, and more.

Role Overview

As an OV in meat establishments, you will:

  • Conduct ante- and post-mortem inspections to verify animal welfare and food safety compliance.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with FSA and legal standards.
  • Lead and support inspection teams, ensuring consistent delivery of official controls.
  • Build productive relationships with Food Business Operators (FBOs) and stakeholders.

Full responsibilities follow the FSA Manual for Official Controls (MOC), ensuring compliance, safety, and professional leadership at every stage of the meat production process.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential:

  • Veterinary degree (BSc/MSc) and RCVS registration or eligibility
  • English proficiency – IELTS 7.0 or OET grade B

Preferred:

  • OV-qualified or experience in meat hygiene/animal welfare
