Video Content Producer
Wales Interactive | Game trailers, social content & creative projects
Commitment: Approximately 27–30 hours per week, with the schedule to be agreed Location: Penarth, Wales | Hybrid working
Engagement: Freelance, with potential to move to a permanent role
About the role
Wales Interactive develops and publishes games, including survival horror, interactive films and titles from independent studios. We are looking for a hands-on Video Content Producer to join our team on a freelance basis, with the potential to develop into a permanent position. The core focus will be creating game trailers, social content and other video assets that help us showcase our games and engage audiences across our marketing channels.
You will spend most of your time creating the videos yourself: playing our games, finding interesting moments, capturing footage and turning it into compelling edits. We need someone resourceful who enjoys getting stuck in, bringing their own ideas and taking videos through to completion. You will also provide creative direction when our artists, developers or external partners contribute to production.
Alongside planned video work, the role will involve responding to campaign priorities and supporting ad-hoc creative projects and tasks requested by management. These may vary depending on upcoming game launches, marketing campaigns and wider business requirements, so we are looking for someone who is adaptable, resourceful and comfortable moving between different types of creative work.
The engagement will begin on a freelance basis, giving both sides the opportunity to assess how we work together. There is potential to move into full-time employment, subject to mutual agreement and business needs.
The role in practice
- Play our games to identify strong footage, plan shots and capture moments that communicate their appeal.
- Produce game trailers, promotional videos, social content and other video assets from concept through to final delivery.
- Shape each video’s storytelling and pacing through editing, music, sound, motion graphics and colour correction.
- Develop hooks and create engaging short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, collaborating with our Marketing & Communications Managers.
- Produce end slates, subtitles, cutdowns and platform or language adaptations as required.
- Keep footage, project files and final assets organised and accessible for future use.
- Work with developers to access the games and assets needed to capture footage.
- Provide briefs, creative direction and feedback when our art team, external partners or third-party developers contribute to production.
- Take ownership of ad-hoc creative projects and tasks requested by management, responding to changing campaign priorities and wider business needs.
- Support the wider marketing team with creative content and production tasks where your skills and experience are relevant.
- Assist with the development of campaign assets and ideas beyond video where required.
- Help identify opportunities to improve our content, production processes and use of existing creative assets.
- Take on additional agreed responsibilities as campaign priorities and business needs require.
What we are looking for
- A portfolio showing strong hands-on editing, visual storytelling and creative judgement, with clear examples of videos you have personally produced.
- The ability to turn a brief into a finished video, contributing ideas and solving practical production challenges independently.
- Strong editing and motion graphics skills. We welcome your preferred software, with a preference for Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- An understanding of short-form video, an interest in games and the ability to adapt your creative approach to different genres, audiences and campaigns.
- Confidence working independently, solving practical production problems and taking ownership of content projects from start to finish.
- Good organisation and communication skills, including managing feedback, revisions, deadlines and multiple projects.
- Flexibility and a willingness to take on varied creative tasks when priorities change.
- A collaborative approach and the confidence to work with developers, artists, marketers and external creative partners.
- We don't expect you to be an expert in every aspect of content production, but you should be confident taking ownership of video projects and comfortable learning, adapting and getting involved where needed.
We welcome applicants from film, TV, advertising, digital content and creative agencies. Games industry experience is essential. Experience capturing gameplay would be useful, but we are happy to consider applicants who are confident they can learn the process quickly.

Please provide a CV and links to 2–3 relevant videos, explaining your contribution to each project.
