The Staff, Technical Program Manager will lead complex technology initiatives by coordinating cross-functional teams and managing program delivery from inception through completion. About the team:
The GTP PMO Team plays a vital role in advancing execution within the organization by overseeing internal deliverables across multiple teams. It manages risks and dependencies to ensure timely outcomes while automating frameworks and fostering strong relationships. The team handles complex technology initiatives, providing technical program managers with exposure to various technology domains and collaboration within a supportive peer group. Emphasizing effective program adoption and continuous improvement, the team aligns with Walmart’s core values and promotes growth through structured processes and cross-functional engagement across Global Technology.
What you'll do:
- Defines goals, deliverables, schedules, and critical paths across complex programs aligned to strategic priorities.
- Secures cross-functional commitments and manages dependencies to ensure successful execution.
- Clarifies requirements and translates product needs into scalable, secure technical solutions.
- Provides technical oversight, guiding architecture, tradeoffs, SRE practices, observability, monitoring, and resiliency planning.
- Resolves ambiguity, removes blockers, and aligns stakeholders through challenges and shifting priorities.
- Tracks milestones, budgets, quality metrics, risks, and execution against program objectives.
- Leverages data to measure success, generate insights, and recommend effective solutions.
- Communicates complex technical concepts clearly through concise, executive-ready reporting and presentations.
What you'll bring:
- Proven Program Expertise: Demonstrated experience in planning, execution, and risk mitigation for medium to high-complexity initiatives.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Strong stakeholder management skills with a proven record of coordinating cross-functional dependencies and building relationships.
- In-depth SDLC & Infrastructure Knowledge: Solid understanding of Agile methodology, system design concepts, APIs, cloud computing, and hardware/software lifecycles (EOL, upgrades, migrations).
- Fact-Based Decisions: Ability to analyze data and use fact-finding techniques to improve processes and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Leadership & Mentoring: Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and developing team members while promoting ethical standards and operational excellence.
