Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A Civil Engineering qualification from a recognised tertiary institution
- Professional registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineering Technician or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Eng Tech / Pr Eng Technologist) (Mandatory)
- A minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience in road maintenance and/or road construction projects
- NQF Level 5 Labour-Based Construction Training (mandatory)
- Proven experience in the supervision, monitoring and execution of labour-based road works
- Must be willing and able to work full-time on site in the Eastern Cape
- Ability to be deployed full-time for the duration of the contract
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Engineer in administering and supervising road maintenance and construction contracts
- Ensure compliance with contract documentation, specifications and quality standards
- Monitor contractor performance, labour-based methods and site progress
- Prepare site reports, measurements and documentation as required
- Liaise with contractors, stakeholders and the Engineer on site-related mattersPreference will be given, but not limited to, candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act.
