BOILERMAKER (EE) Area: Boksburg, Gauteng Industry: Mining / Manufacturing Salary: Market Related Position Type: Limited Duration Contract Job Purpose To manufacture, assemble, install, maintain and repair metal structures, equipment and components in a mining or manufacturing environment, ensuring that all work is completed according to technical specifications, quality standards and occupational health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and technical specifications.
- Measure, mark out, cut, shape and prepare metal plates, sections and structural components.
- Fabricate, assemble and fit metal structures, frames, chutes, hoppers, tanks and other equipment as required.
- Perform welding, grinding and related metalworking activities within the scope of the position.
- Repair, maintain and modify metal structures, machinery components and equipment.
- Use hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely and correctly.
- Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy, structural integrity and compliance with specifications.
- Identify defective components and report any maintenance or repair requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area.
- Comply with company procedures, occupational health and safety requirements, and applicable site safety standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Recognised Boilermaker trade qualification or relevant trade test certificate.
- Proven experience working as a qualified Boilermaker.
- Previous experience in a mining and/or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of metal fabrication, fitting, cutting, shaping and welding processes.
- Competent in the safe use of relevant tools and equipment.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to produce quality workmanship.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
