The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Cost Analyst to join our expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the commercial and financial performance of projects across the business.
You will be responsible for producing accurate commercial reporting, analysing project performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and providing valuable insight to senior stakeholders. Working closely with Project Managers, Commercial Managers, Procurement Teams, and Leadership Teams, you will help drive profitability, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in accordance with Wilmott Group and associated company procedures, ensuring compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards.
- Produce accurate and timely commercial and financial reports for senior stakeholders.
- Condense Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) models for high-risk projects.
- Analyse actual costs, budgets, forecasts and variances to identify trends and business risks.
- Maintain the commercial risk register and Level 1 master tracker.
- Develop and maintain commercial dashboards, KPIs and performance metrics.
- Support teams with the implementation and ongoing development of reporting dashboards.
- Provide detailed analysis of revenue, margins, profitability and cost drivers.
- Attend weekly progress reviews with Project Managers and monthly project health meetings.
- Monitor project, contract and operational costs against budgets.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements alongside Project Managers and Procurement teams.
- Ensure cost allocations and accounting treatments are accurate and aligned to business requirements.
- Partner with operational and commercial managers to improve financial performance.
- Present analysis and recommendations to senior leadership teams.
- Ensure adherence to commercial governance frameworks and financial controls.
- Maintain high standards of data integrity and reporting accuracy.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within commercial reporting processes.
- Support internal and external audit requirements.
- Identify and implement process automation and reporting enhancements.
The Person
- Previous experience in a Commercial Analyst, Cost Analyst, Commercial Finance, Quantity Surveying or similar commercial role.
- Strong understanding of project costing, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
- Experience producing and analysing CVRs.
- Proven track record of supporting commercial performance and cost control.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to reporting accuracy.
- Competent in using Excel, reporting tools and commercial systems.
- Confident communicator with strong organisational skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the business.
