This role ensures timely analysis, triage, and escalation, providing structured challenge and insight across IA, Trading Support, Technology, Clients, and Risk functions.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct root‑cause analysis for breaks, provide challenge to IA teams, and ensure appropriate escalation and closure.

3. Reporting, Analytics & Monthly Look‑Back Reviews

Produce daily IA control MI, reconciliation oversight MI, and market‑surveillance analytics.

Lead monthly thematic look‑backs across price behaviours, reconciliation trends, liquidity events, or news‑driven patterns.

Maintain dashboards for IA governance, 2LOD reporting, JRCC, COWG, Board Packs, and Quarterly Compliance MI

4. Investment Administration & Market Operations Expertise

Interpret market events affecting IA (corporate actions, liquidity events, price volatility) and support decision‑making with data‑based insights.

Provide analytical challenge to IA and Trading Support to strengthen operational execution and reduce control failures.

5. Risk Management & Governance

Maintain the IA risk register and control inventory, ensuring clarity of ownership and control frequency.

Identify gaps and drive automation or enhancement of IA controls and data quality.

Ensure clear, timely MI and commentary for 2LOD oversight, senior governance, and client reporting.

6. Stakeholder Engagement

Act as the central coordinating point between IA, Compliance, Technology, Clients, Vendors, and Risk.

Communicate issues, insights, and trends clearly and constructively to stakeholders.

͏

Required Skills & Experience

Strong knowledge of IA, market operations, and UK MAR surveillance indicators.

Experience with control operation, reconciliations, and market‑data analysis.

Strong analytical skills (Excel, modelling, market data) and ability to produce clear MI and challenge.

Excellent communication and the ability to constructively challenge internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

Degree in Finance, Economics, Risk, or related discipline (preferred).

Professional certifications desirable (CISI IOC, IMC, surveillance/compliance modules).

3–5+ years in IA, surveillance, risk, trading support, or middle office.

Success Measures (First 6–12 Months)

Effective, timely execution and documentation of daily market surveillance controls.

Strong oversight of reconciliations, with improved turnaround and reduced breaks.

Embedded monthly look‑back reporting with actionable insights.

Clear definition of Line 1 vs 1.5 vs 2LOD responsibilities.

Improved control environment, reduced breaches, and strong audit outcomes.
