About the role
We are looking for a solution integration engineer that has a passion for showcasing payment product capabilities to prospective and existing Wpay clients covering large enterprises, ISOs and Payfacs.
You will provide deep technical and functional expertise, ensuring our clients achieve successful, robust, and scalable solutions across our omnichannel payments platform. This client facing role requires a blend of technical expertise, business acumen and delivery rigour. You will not only lead the technical implementation but also act as a voice of the customer to influence and shape our product roadmaps. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work across various payment solutions covering Digital and In person payment acceptance, latest fraud capabilities and gifting solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and drive the end to end delivery of complex technical integrations for new and existing clients for enterprise, ISO and Payfac client segments.
- Consult with clients to define and document solution options, integration plans, and recommend best in class digital and in person payment capabilities and fraud prevention strategies.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for client engineering teams, conducting technical presentations, product demonstrations, and reviewing integration quality.
- Ability to communicate with external engineering teams across various programming languages (Java, Python, Ruby, PHP, Go, NodeJS, .NET, ReactJS, React Native, Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin)
- Partner and collaborate across Wpay’s Sales, Account Management, Product, and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions and contribute to the development and evolution of our product offerings.
- Advise clients on integration best practices, contribute to internal corporate knowledge, and develop/deliver technical training.
- Monitor technical performance metrics and support root cause analysis investigations during implementation, go live and post implementation phases to drive the best outcomes for merchants
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years in a client facing technical payments role (Solutions, Technical Integration or Implementation Engineer), including time writing production code
- Demonstrated expertise in web / native app integrations using REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, Postman and ability to quickly learn new technologies
- Exceptional verbal and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, comfortable explaining complex technical concepts to all business and technical stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of digital payment acquiring: authorisation and settlement, tokenisation, 3DS2 and SCA, digital wallets, chargebacks and disputes
- Strong debugging across logs, API tooling, SQL and distributed tracing
- Hands on with a growth problem solving mindset who is willing to get their hands dirty and help deliver for our clients
Desirable
- Experience in merchant payment processing
- Experience with payment terminal integration and terminal payment apps
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related engineering field of study
