Job Summary
We are looking for a WordPress Developer with 1 year of hands-on experience to join our Digital Marketing team. The ideal candidate should have practical experience in developing, maintaining, updating, and optimizing WordPress websites.
You should be comfortable working with WordPress, Elementor, themes, plugins, HTML, CSS, and basic PHP, along with having a good understanding of responsive design, website performance, and basic technical SEO requirements.
You will work closely with our SEO, Digital Marketing, and Content teams to ensure our websites are technically sound, user-friendly, responsive, fast, and optimized for search engines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, update, and manage WordPress websites.
- Build and modify web pages using Elementor and other WordPress page builders.
- Customize WordPress themes and plugins based on project requirements.
- Publish and format blog posts in WordPress, including:
- Formatting headings and paragraphs
- Adding and optimizing images
- Adding internal and external links
- Creating tables and other content elements
- Ensuring proper content structure and formatting
- Review published blogs and web pages on desktop and mobile to ensure proper formatting, functionality, and responsiveness.
- Make updates and fixes using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and basic PHP.
- Ensure websites are mobile-responsive and compatible across major browsers.
- Troubleshoot WordPress errors, layout issues, plugin conflicts, and website bugs.
- Manage WordPress plugins, themes, updates, settings, and configurations.
- Improve website speed, performance, and Core Web Vitals.
- Work with caching and optimization plugins such as WP Rocket.
- Implement and maintain website redirects, menus, forms, headers, footers, and other website components.
- Work with the SEO team to implement technical SEO requirements, including:
- XML Sitemap
- Robots.txt
- Canonical URLs
- 301 Redirects
- Schema implementation
- URL structure
- Indexing-related technical fixes
- Troubleshoot website issues following plugin/theme updates or hosting changes.
- Coordinate with hosting providers when server-side issues need to be investigated or resolved.
- Work carefully with both staging and live websites and follow proper deployment practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with WordPress development.
- Good understanding of the WordPress CMS.
- Practical experience working with Elementor.
- Good knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Basic knowledge of JavaScript and PHP.
- Good understanding of WordPress themes and plugins.
- Experience troubleshooting WordPress errors and plugin conflicts.
- Understanding of responsive web design.
- Basic knowledge of website speed and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with caching and optimization plugins such as WP Rocket.
- Basic understanding of hosting, DNS, SSL, and domain configuration.
- Understanding of basic technical SEO concepts is an advantage.
- Ability to work carefully with staging and production/live websites.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with SEO, Digital Marketing, and Content teams.
Education
A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT, Web Development, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory if the candidate has relevant practical experience.
