Work from home, early shift, weekends off. Apparel or garment production experience is a must.
Love fashion and know your way around a garment factory? An established Australian fashion and apparel group (denim and apparel brands sold in Australia and internationally) is looking for a full-time Production Coordinator to join its production team, 100% from home. You will work closely with our Australian team and email our garment factories every day, so you need to understand how a garment gets from tech pack to warehouse.
Why you'll love it
- 100% work from home. No commute, no traffic, no relocating.
- Early day shift, no graveyard. 9am to 5pm Melbourne time, which is 6am to 2pm Philippine time (7am to 3pm from April). You finish by mid-afternoon with the rest of the day for family.
- Weekends and Australian public holidays off. Monday to Friday only.
- Long-term, full-time role with a stable, growing Australian fashion group, not a short project.
- Proper training from our Senior Production Manager, with recorded videos to refer back to.
- Real team culture. You'll be part of the team on daily calls, not just a task-taker.
- Grow your fashion career working with international brands, factories and products you can see in stores.
About the role
This is a detail-heavy admin role inside a fashion production team. You will look after the paperwork side of the purchase order lifecycle, from raising the PO and sending it to the factory through to delivery into our warehouse, plus a busy daily supplier inbox (30 to 40 emails most mornings). Accuracy matters more than speed: your data feeds supplier orders, delivery schedules, finance and sales.
Must haves
- 2+ years in apparel or garment production, merchandising or sourcing coordination, working directly with factories or suppliers
- Solid understanding of the garment product lifecycle: tech packs, sampling (proto, fit, PP/sealer samples), costing and FOB, purchase orders, critical path and WIP tracking, QC/inspections, ex-factory dates and shipping bookings
- Strong Microsoft Excel: VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, filters, and building and maintaining WIP or delivery trackers with high-volume data. You will complete a live Excel test during the interview.
- Clear, professional written English for daily factory emails, plus confidence on phone and video calls
- Experience raising and amending POs in an ERP or purchasing system
- Highly organised, works to deadlines across time zones, flags delays early, asks rather than assumes
- Own computer with Microsoft Excel installed (desktop version), reliable internet and a backup connection, quiet workspace with webcam
Nice to haves
- PLM or ERP experience (WFX, CIN7, NetSuite, SAP, Centric or similar)
- Experience with Australian, US or European fashion brands or buyers
- Denim experience
- Knowledge of compliance documents (scope certificates, fibre certification, audits/CAPs)
- Basic understanding of shipping and logistics
What you will do
- Raise bulk, small-run and recut purchase orders accurately against approved planning files
- Upload FOB, freight, duty and other costs, applying negotiated discounts and surcharges correctly
- Action PO amendments (cancellations, additions, colour and quantity changes) and keep system data aligned
- Maintain delivery schedules and trackers through to arrival, updating ex-factory changes and delays
- Manage the daily factory inbox: barcode requests, order queries, sample quality feedback and late delivery follow-ups
- Report factory updates and slipping dates to the production managers early and concisely
- Chase and file compliance documents and log them in the relevant portals
- Maintain recut trackers so the sales team has live visibility
- Run data checks across the ERP, planning files and schedules and flag discrepancies
- Prepare recurring reports and inputs for margin, on-time delivery and factory performance
The team
The team is friendly, high energy and wants you to feel part of it, just working from a different city.
