The Patient Care Assistant position is part of the Med/Surg Department and is a contingent role working approx. 24 hours per two-week pay period. Shift may vary depending on availability and department needs, with a schedule that may include a combination of 12- and 8-hour shifts.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Hospital experience and departmental experience preferred
- Demonstrates initiative, enthusiasm, and professionalism
- Strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and commitment to customer service
- Team-oriented with a focus on providing seamless patient care
Key Responsibilities
- Perform various patient care activities and related non-professional services to support patient comfort and personal needs
- Use a systematic approach to assess patient needs and collaborate with nursing and ancillary staff
- Promote teamwork and maintain adherence to all departmental standards
- Support a safe, efficient, and patient-centered care environment
