Event Operations Manager
Location: Queensland (Regional travel required)
Contract: Weekly / Event-Based. Average 16-30 hrs per week.
Rate of Pay: $38 per hour
About XL Event Lab
XL Event Lab is an international live events company producing a portfolio of successful
touring entertainment experiences across multiple markets.
As we continue to expand across Australia, we're looking for an Event Operations
Manager to help deliver exceptional live events throughout Queensland.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Regional Development – Live Events, you'll take responsibility
for the operational delivery of our events once venues have been secured. From planning
and preparation through to the final guest leaving the venue, you'll ensure every event is
delivered safely, professionally and to an exceptional standard.
This is a practical, hands-on role. You'll lead Event Crew, transport equipment, liaise with
venues, solve problems as they arise and ensure every event delivers a first-class guest
experience.

What You'll Be Doing
Event Delivery
- Lead the operational delivery of live events across your region.
- Act as the operational lead on event day.
- Ensure events run safely, efficiently and on schedule.
- Resolve operational issues quickly and professionally.
Venue Operations
- Take ownership of venue operations following contract confirmation.
- Liaise directly with venue staff before and during each event.
- Ensure all operational requirements are in place ahead of every event.
Team Leadership
- Schedule Event Crew for upcoming events.
- Lead pre-event briefings and provide direction throughout each event.
- Foster a positive, professional team environment.
Equipment & Logistics
- Transport event equipment to and from venues using a U-Haul vehicle.
- Manage event setup and pack-down.
- Maintain equipment and monitor inventory levels.
Guest Experience
- Deliver an outstanding customer experience from arrival through to departure.
- Handle guest queries and resolve issues professionally.
- Represent XL Event Lab and our event brands to the highest standard.
About You
You'll be organised, dependable and comfortable taking responsibility for live events.
Previous experience in live events would be advantageous, but we'd also welcome
candidates from hospitality, visitor attractions, theatres, tourism or similar customer-facing
environments.
Most importantly, you'll enjoy working as part of a team, take pride in delivering exceptional
experiences and remain calm under pressure.
Working Pattern
This role is centered around our live event schedule.
Most work takes place on Fridays and Saturdays, with occasional Thursday and Sunday
events depending on the tour schedule. Hours will average between 16-30 each week.
Regular travel throughout Queensland is required, with overnight stays only occasionally
necessary.
