Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Global IT Governance Operations Lead to join our IT Governance team.
The role will take the lead in the operational execution of Global IT Governance activities across Yamaha's regional organizations, ensuring timely completion of governance deliverables, effective stakeholder coordination, consistent governance practices, and alignment with Yamaha's global IT governance policies and standards.
The role will lead governance operations across three key areas:
- IT Strategic Alignment
- IT Risk Management
- IT Resource Optimization
In addition, the role will take a key role in IT Governance Maturity Assessment and Governance Enhancement initiatives, including facilitating assessment sessions, analyzing and following up on assessment outcomes, coordinating improvement plans, and supporting the implementation of governance enhancement initiatives.
The Global IT Governance Operations Lead will work closely with Regional Headquarters (RHQs), local IT teams, and Yamaha Motor Co. (YMC) and will be responsible for ensuring effective execution, follow-up, reporting, and continuous improvement of global governance operations.
The role will also provide operational backup and support to the Asia IT Governance team during peak periods and for major regional initiatives.

Deep understanding of IT governance frameworks (COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001), compliance standards, risk management and IT cost management.
Role
1. Global IT Governance Operations Leadership
- Lead the operational execution of Global IT Governance activities across RHQs and regional IT organizations.
- Coordinate and facilitate the collection of IT Governance deliverables across key governance areas, including IT Strategic Alignment, IT Risk Management, and IT Resource Optimization.
- Communicate governance requirements, guidelines, templates, timelines, and action items to relevant stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain governance activity calendars, trackers, and operating processes.
- Monitor deliverables, deadlines, owners, and submission status to ensure timely completion.
- Proactively follow up with stakeholders and escalate delays, gaps, and critical issues to the appropriate level.
- Perform initial reviews of governance submissions for completeness, consistency, and adherence to defined requirements.
- Coordinate corrections, clarifications, and resubmissions with relevant stakeholders.
- Lead the consolidation and submission of global IT Governance deliverables to YMC/HQ.
- Maintain a centralized governance repository and ensure appropriate documentation of governance activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness of global governance operations.
2. IT Governance Maturity Assessment
- Lead the coordination and execution of IT Governance Maturity Assessments across RHQs .
- Plan and facilitate maturity assessment sessions with relevant IT stakeholders.
- Prepare assessment materials, questionnaires, agendas, and supporting information.
- Coordinate assessment discussions and ensure appropriate participation from relevant stakeholders.
- Consolidate assessment results, observations, maturity scores, and key findings.
- Analyze assessment results to identify governance gaps, maturity trends, and areas requiring improvement.
- Prepare management-level summaries and reports of assessment outcomes.
- Coordinate follow-up activities arising from maturity assessments, including action plans, owners, target dates, and progress tracking.
- Monitor implementation of agreed improvement actions and provide regular updates to management and HQ.
- Support periodic reassessment to measure progress in governance maturity.
3. IT Governance Enhancement & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to strengthen IT Governance processes, practices, and operating models based on maturity assessment findings, stakeholder feedback, and operational experience.
- Suggest and lead/support implementation of IT Governance enhancement initiatives across regions.
- Develop and improve governance processes, templates, tools, and working practices.
- Coordinate implementation of standardized governance approaches across regions.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate governance activities.
- Share best practices and lessons learned across RHQs.
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented governance enhancement initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement of the global IT Governance operating model.
4. Stakeholder Management & Global Coordination
- Act as a key operational point of contact for Global IT Governance activities.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with RHQs, local IT teams, YMC/HQ, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate activities across multiple countries, time zones, and organizational cultures.
- Communicate governance requirements clearly and ensure stakeholder understanding.
- Handle stakeholder questions, concerns, and clarification requests related to governance activities.
- Proactively engage stakeholders to ensure commitments and deadlines are met.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and promote consistent governance practices across regions.
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders at different organizational levels.
5. Governance Reporting & Documentation
- Lead preparation of regular Global IT Governance status reports for management and HQ.
- Consolidate governance updates and highlight key achievements, risks, delays, decisions, and action items.
- Prepare management presentations and executive communication materials.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date governance documentation and repositories.
- Develop and maintain governance templates, procedures, guidelines, and operating documents.
- Maintain historical records of governance submissions, assessments, action plans, and improvement initiatives.
- Ensure governance information is structured and readily available for management review and audit purposes.
6. Support to Asia IT Governance
- Provide operational backup and support to the Asia Regional IT Governance team when required.
- Support Asia governance activities during peak periods and major governance initiatives.
- Support Asia RIGC meeting preparation, coordination, facilitation, and follow-up as required.
- Contribute to cross-regional governance initiatives and special projects.
- Support other IT Governance activities based on organizational priorities and business requirements.
