  • Pay: $40.00 to $50.00 per hour

  • Full-time position

  • Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM

  • Four-day standard workweek with consistent three-day weekends

  • Occasional overtime

Your New Role

  • Work as a field-based Journeyman Electrician on projects throughout Greater Kalamazoo and West Michigan, including Kalamazoo, Van Buren, Allegan, and Barry counties

  • Install, repair, upgrade, and maintain electrical systems and equipment

  • Install conduit, wiring, electrical panels, branch circuits, devices, fixtures, and lighting

  • Work with electrical distribution systems, service upgrades, dedicated equipment circuits, exterior lighting, security lighting, and related systems

  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, drawings, specifications, and job instructions

  • Troubleshoot electrical problems, identify issues, and complete necessary repairs

  • Perform work in accordance with applicable electrical codes, project specifications, safety requirements, and company standards

  • Complete electrical work for new construction, remodels, renovations, and other projects

  • Coordinate with Foremen, Journeyman Electricians, Apprentices, and other trades on the jobsite

  • Help train and guide less-experienced electricians and apprentices when needed

  • Communicate material, equipment, and field needs to leadership

  • Keep assigned work organized and moving according to project schedules

  • Maintain clean and safe work areas

  • Protect customer and company property while working

  • Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, contractors, and other trades

  • Take responsibility for assigned work and deliver safe, clean, dependable electrical installations

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician License

  • Valid Driver's License

  • 4+ years of electrical experience

  • Working knowledge of electrical wiring, fixtures, panels, circuitry, and distribution systems

  • Ability to safely perform electrical installations, repairs, and upgrades

  • Ability to read electrical blueprints, drawings, specifications, and job instructions

  • Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of an electrical crew

  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

  • Dependable approach to attendance, assigned work, and project responsibilities

  • Clear verbal communication skills

  • Ability to follow direction and complete assigned work without constant supervision

  • Ability to work effectively with Foremen, Journeyman Electricians, Apprentices, and other trades

  • Ability to satisfy Laws Electric's applicable pre-employment requirements

  • Experience with new construction, remodels, renovations, electrical service upgrades, panels and distribution, branch circuitry, lighting, dedicated equipment circuits, network cabling, exterior lighting, security lighting, troubleshooting, or electrical repairs is valuable
