Role Title: VA Eligibility Specialist
Role Type: Contractor Location: Remote, United States Time Commitment: 20–30 hours per week, short-term project
We are seeking experienced VA Eligibility Specialists to evaluate and improve AI-generated guidance on veterans' health care. You'll use your enrollment and eligibility expertise to ensure questions reflect real veterans' needs and answers are accurate, complete, and useful. No prior AI experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Review VA health care questions for realism and relevance.
- Develop rubrics covering eligibility, enrollment, priority groups, income requirements, and means testing.
- Evaluate guidance on care coordination, community care under the MISSION Act, and access to care.
- Assess AI-generated answers for errors, omissions, and outdated information.
- Provide clear, actionable written feedback to the project team asynchronously.
Required Qualifications
- Previous VA enrollment, eligibility, or care coordination experience, or experience as a VA social worker.
- At least 1 year of experience in VA health care enrollment, eligibility determination, or care coordination.
- Working knowledge of priority groups, income and means testing, and community care.
- Based in the United States.
- Ability to start quickly and commit 20–30 hours per week.
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with veteran outreach and assisting veterans with health care applications.
- Experience creating guides, checklists, or training materials.
- Experience supporting diverse veterans and families, including rural and non-English-speaking communities.
