Your Role

Integrated into a team of scientists and research engineers, you will work on research projects in surgical robotics.

  • Developing concepts for surgical 3D scene understanding and computer-assisted surgery, with a focus on 4D Gaussian Splatting, stereo and surface reconstruction, and multimodal sensor fusion
  • Evaluating concepts on curated datasets and in own lab experiment settings
  • Presenting and discussing research findings in team and department meetings
  • Working with researchers and engineers in a collaborative environment at the ZEISS Innovation Hub Karlsruhe, located at the KIT Campus North

Your Profile

================

  • Enrolled in a master's degree program in computer science, robotics, engineering, or a related field
  • Solid foundation in deep learning for computer vision (e.g. semantic segmentation, object tracking, or related areas), ideally with practical programming experience in Python
  • Strong interest in developing innovative solutions for computer-assisted surgery
  • An open mindset, a hands-on approach, and a passion for working in agile, interdisciplinary teams
  • Good communication skills in English and/or German.
  • Ideally some experience working with 4D Gaussian Splatting, NeRFs, or 3D reconstruction
