We are looking for an unusual finance leader: someone who combines a strong accounting foundation with sophisticated FP&A capabilities, commercial judgment, and a genuine builder’s mindset. We are looking for a builder and a thinker, not simply a reporter. This person will own the integrity of our financial reporting, but reporting what happened is only the starting point. We want someone who can build the financial infrastructure for where client is going, use data to anticipate what comes next, challenge assumptions, identify opportunities and risks, and help management make better decisions. The role is deliberately hybrid. It requires enough accounting and controllership depth to ensure the numbers are right, combined with the analytical and commercial mindset of a strong FP&A leader. The right person will be equally comfortable improving the monthly close, building a multi-year financial model, analyzing SaaS and recurring-revenue economics, creating management dashboards, evaluating strategic scenarios, and using AI and automation to fundamentally improve how the finance function operates. We do not want someone who simply inherits a finance process and runs it. We want someone who builds a better one. What Makes This Role Different This is not a traditional Controller position, nor is it a pure FP&A role. We are looking for the combination: Accounting discipline + FP&A thinking + commercial judgment + AI/automation + builder mentality. The successful candidate should naturally ask not only: “Are the numbers right?” but also: “What are the numbers telling us, what happens next, and what should we do about it?” This is a hands-on role in a growing entrepreneurial company. The person needs to be comfortable moving from detail to strategy and back again. There will be times when this person is deep in the accounting and other times when they are working directly with the founders on a strategic decision.Job Overview
