Key Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to join our Infrastructure and Cloud Engineering team. You will own the design, implementation, and maintenance of our multi-cloud Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) framework, with a focus on AWS, CI/CD automation, and data platform orchestration (Snowflake + dbt). This strategic role bridges infrastructure engineering and data platform operations and requires expertise in both traditional infrastructure provisioning and modern data engineering practices.
-
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) & Cloud Architecture — Design, develop, and maintain Terraform and CloudFormation stacks for AWS, following enterprise-grade standards.
-
Architect multi-stack, multi-environment deployments with clear separation of concerns and independent lifecycles; implement stack governance, naming conventions (environment-environment-project-stackname-resource patterns), and AWS resource tagging strategies.
-
Manage state files in S3 with proper locking, versioning, and disaster recovery procedures; own provider version pinning, dependency management, and upgrade strategies.
-
CI/CD Pipeline Development — Design and implement Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines for infrastructure deployment, including approval workflows and environment promotion gates.
-
Build release orchestration pipelines for multi-stack, coordinated deployments with distributed locking and idempotency; create and maintain deployment templates (Terraform, CloudFormation, Docker, Assets) used across multiple projects.
-
Implement infrastructure validation, testing, and pre-deployment compliance checks.
-
Data Platform Operations (Snowflake + dbt) — Manage Snowflake baseline infrastructure (accounts, databases, roles, warehouses, security policies).
-
Architect and maintain dbt Cloud integration with ADO, including CI schema isolation and deployment workflows; own data environment separation (dev/test/qa/prod) and role-based access control (RBAC).
-
Support dbt project deployment pipelines, version management, and artifact handling.
-
Docker & Container Management — Build and maintain Docker images for CI/CD tools, data processing, and infrastructure management.
-
Implement image versioning, registry management (ECR), and artifact lifecycle policies; optimize Dockerfile patterns for security, performance, and reusability.
-
Security & Compliance — Enforce least-privilege IAM policies across all infrastructure; implement encryption at rest and in transit for all data services.
-
Manage credentials and secrets via AWS Secrets Manager and Azure DevOps libraries (never in code); ensure GxP/compliance tagging on resources and maintain audit trails.
-
Conduct security reviews of infrastructure changes before deployment.
-
Team Leadership & Governance — Mentor junior engineers on IaC best practices, AWS architecture, and CI/CD patterns; own framework evolution and contribute to architectural decision records (ADRs/DDRs).
-
Establish and enforce coding standards, naming conventions, and deployment procedures; collaborate with project teams to standardize infrastructure patterns across the organization.
-
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and lead post-incident reviews.
Profile Requirements

For this position, we are looking for someone with:
-
Experience 7+ years hands-on experience with Terraform or CloudFormation (or both) in production AWS environments.
-
4+ years designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, preferably with Azure DevOps or Jenkins.
-
3+ years with AWS services including: VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, ECR.
-
2+ years with Docker and container orchestration experience.
-
2+ years working with data warehousing or analytics platforms (Snowflake preferred) or dbt.
-
Strong understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code principles, modular architecture, and state management.
-
Demonstrated experience with Git workflows, code review, and branch protection policies.
-
*Technical Skills — Proficiency in: Terraform (HCL) — modules, remote state, workspaces, provider management; CloudFormation (YAML/JSON) or CDK; Azure DevOps (pipelines, service connections, variable groups, security); AWS IAM, security groups, VPCs, subnets, routing; Bash/shell scripting and Python for automation; SQL (for Snowflake schema design and RBAC); dbt (DAG, models, tests, deployments).
-
Familiar with: Docker, container registries (ECR); infrastructure testing frameworks (Terratest, AWS CloudFormation testing); monitoring and logging (CloudWatch, Application Insights); secrets management (AWS Secrets Manager, Azure Key Vault); Snowflake architecture (multi-tenant, warehouses, roles, resource monitors).
-
*Professional Qualities — Strong problem-solving skills with ability to debug infrastructure issues across multiple layers.
-
Excellent communication skills; able to explain complex infrastructure decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
-
Passion for automation and continuous improvement; experience working in cross-functional teams with data engineers, software engineers, and business analysts.
-
Comfort with ambiguity and willingness to learn new tools/frameworks; attention to detail and commitment to security best practices.
