Responsibilities
- Develop, construct, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines using tools like Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Informatica to handle large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
- Design and optimize data warehouse solutions utilizing SQL Server, Oracle, and other relational databases to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Collaborate within Agile teams to gather requirements, prioritize tasks, and deliver iterative improvements on data infrastructure projects.
- Write efficient SQL queries, Python scripts, Bash shell scripts, and VBA macros to automate data processing workflows and streamline operations.
- Implement best practices in database design, schema development, and data modeling to ensure integrity and performance.
- Integrate diverse data sources from cloud platforms such as AWS into unified systems for comprehensive analysis.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues promptly, and ensure high availability of critical data services.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Data Engineer or in a similar role with a strong understanding of big data ecosystems such as Hadoop and Spark.
- Hands-on expertise with cloud platforms like AWS for deploying scalable data solutions.
- Proficiency in programming languages including Java, Python, SQL, Bash (Unix shell) for automation and scripting tasks.
- Solid knowledge of database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, and Data Warehouse architectures.
- Familiarity with ETL tools like Informatica for extracting, transforming, and loading large datasets efficiently.
- Experience working within Agile methodologies to deliver continuous value through iterative development cycles.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and translate them into meaningful insights for stakeholders.
