About the Opportunity

As an Assistant Project Manager based in Osbourne, SA, you will report to the LOTE 1B Project Manager and support in delivering detailed project management and support activities required during all phases of the project lifecycle. This includes managing the planning, execution, and closeout of elements of major projects or managing minor projects within the Life of Type Extension (LOTE) Program.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Assistant Project Manager may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Develop and maintain project performance baselines, monitor progress, analyse variances and support corrective actions.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers and project teams to support successful delivery outcomes.
  • Coordinate and align activities, priorities and deliverables across multiple teams to ensure strategic and operational objectives are met.
  • Facilitate action management processes, tracking progress and ensuring timely resolution of key project actions.
  • Conduct project risk and opportunity reviews, developing and managing mitigation and realisation strategies.
  • Prepare and coordinate project reporting, reviews and governance activities in line with program requirements.
  • Liaise daily with ASC functional departments and capabilities to drive collaboration and business alignment.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for project-related activities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality and technical requirements.

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in a technical or project management discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Project Engineer (or equivalent) in complex project environments, with strong knowledge of project controls, governance, scheduling, Earned Value Management, and financial oversight.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to work effectively with Commonwealth representatives and senior stakeholders.
  • Membership of AIPM or equivalent (desirable).
  • A high-level understanding of the Defence Industry will be highly regarded.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
