About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Java Angular Full Stack Developer to join our software development team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, TypeScript, REST APIs, relational databases, and cloud technologies.
The Java Angular Full Stack Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, integrating, and maintaining scalable web applications across both frontend and backend layers. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, software engineering fundamentals, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional Agile teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise-grade full stack applications using Java and Angular technologies.
- Develop backend services and business logic using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and RESTful APIs.
- Build responsive, accessible, and user-friendly frontend applications using Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, and Angular Material.
- Design and implement reusable Angular components, services, modules, directives, pipes, and shared libraries.
- Develop and integrate secure REST APIs for communication between frontend applications, backend services, databases, and external systems.
- Implement backend components using Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, and dependency injection.
- Design and optimize relational database queries, schemas, stored procedures, and data-access logic using technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar databases.
- Implement authentication and authorization using technologies such as JWT, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD.
- Develop scalable and maintainable application architectures following object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with Architects, Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, UX/UI Designers, DevOps Engineers, and other Developers.
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into reliable software solutions.
- Create and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and automated tests to ensure application quality and stability.
- Perform debugging, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and performance optimization across frontend and backend applications.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards, coding guidelines, security practices, and architectural principles.
- Integrate applications with third-party services, enterprise platforms, APIs, and external systems.
- Implement form validation, error handling, logging, exception handling, and user feedback mechanisms.
- Ensure applications meet accessibility, usability, security, performance, and responsive design standards.
- Support implementation of accessibility requirements such as WCAG, AODA, ARIA attributes, and keyboard navigation where applicable.
- Develop asynchronous and reactive functionality using technologies such as RxJS, Observables, and asynchronous Java programming.
- Support application builds, deployments, releases, configuration management, and environment setup.
- Work with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
- Use Git-based source control and follow branching, pull request, and code review processes.
- Support deployment and operation of applications within Azure, AWS, or other cloud environments.
- Monitor application performance, investigate production issues, and implement fixes and enhancements.
- Maintain technical documentation, API documentation, architecture notes, deployment documentation, and development standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, application architecture, test automation, and software quality.
- Ensure software solutions align with organizational security policies, privacy requirements, accessibility standards, and technical architecture.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of software development experience, including significant experience developing full stack enterprise applications.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Java EE/Jakarta EE, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
- Strong experience developing modern frontend applications using Angular and TypeScript.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, and responsive web design.
- Experience with Angular concepts including components, services, dependency injection, routing, reactive forms, lifecycle hooks, directives, and modules.
- Strong experience with RxJS and Observable-based programming.
- Strong experience designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs and web services.
- Experience with Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, and ORM frameworks.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean-code practices.
- Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, database design, joins, queries, indexes, transactions, and performance optimization.
- Experience implementing authentication and authorization using JWT, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SSO, or Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD.
- Experience with application security concepts including authentication, authorization, input validation, secure API design, and protection against common web vulnerabilities.
- Experience with frontend UI libraries such as Angular Material, Bootstrap, or similar frameworks.
- Experience with automated testing technologies such as JUnit, Mockito, Jasmine, Karma, Cypress, Selenium, or Playwright.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Bitbucket, or similar source-control platforms.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with Maven or Gradle for Java application builds and npm-based tooling for Angular applications.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker is considered an asset.
- Experience with microservices architectures and distributed systems is considered an asset.
- Experience deploying or supporting applications in Microsoft Azure, AWS, or similar cloud platforms is considered an asset.
- Experience with enterprise integration, messaging, or event-driven architectures is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG and AODA is considered an asset.
- Strong debugging, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional Agile teams.
- Ability to manage multiple development priorities and deliver high-quality solutions within project timelines.
- Experience working with government, public sector, financial services, healthcare, or other large enterprise environments is considered an asset.
