Senior Data Analyst
Requirements
- A relevant 3 year tertiary qualification, preferably a relevant
Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer
Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science,
Economics, Quantitative Social Science, or any field with
strong quantitative elements
- At least 5 years’ relevant experience
Key Performance Areas
- Work with stakeholders across the City to understand their
needs, translate them into well-defined analytical questions,
and design fit-for-purpose solutions using statistical methods
- Develop and deploy statistical models and data products
using appropriate algorithms and techniques
- Monitor and maintain models and data products in production
so they remain accurate, reliable and fit for purpose
- Communicate findings and insights clearly to technical and
non-technical audiences through presentations, reports and
visualisations
- Apply and contribute to the establishment, implementation
and adoption of guidelines, standards, best practices and
governance frameworks for the data analytic and AI
community of the City
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in statistics and
related fields and identify opportunities to apply new
techniques and technologies to improve the City's data
capabilities
- Create, maintain and improve high-quality documentation of
data analytic processes
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data analysts.
- Contribute to and/or lead the delivery of the data analytic
projects and programmes, ensuring they are delivered on
time, within scope and budget, with effective stakeholder
communication and managed risk.
- Perform change, stakeholder, risk, procurement, contract
and performance management when required
