About the Position
As Cloud DevOps Engineer, You will build and maintain the pipelines, infrastructure, and observability that move software from commit to production safely. The work sits across two disciplines: designing cloud infrastructure as code, and engineering the CI/CD systems that deploy it. This is a hands-on engineering role reporting to IT leadership, with ownership of deployment reliability, environment consistency, and the tooling application teams depend on daily.
Responsibilities
Infrastructure and Platform
- Design, provision, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS or Azure using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform preferred; CloudFormation or Bicep acceptable), with all environments built from version-controlled modules rather than console changes
- Build and operate Kubernetes clusters or container platforms (EKS/AKS or equivalent), including node lifecycle, workload configuration, and ingress
- Manage networking components: VPC design, subnets, security groups or NSGs, load balancers, DNS, and private connectivity between environments
- Administer secrets, certificates, and access control using cloud-native tooling (AWS Secrets Manager, Azure Key Vault, or HashiCorp Vault), with rotation enforced rather than manual
- Maintain cost visibility across accounts and subscriptions: tagging standards, budget alerts, and rightsizing recommendations
CI/CD and Release Engineering
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps) for application and infrastructure changes, including automated test stages and quality gates
- Automate build, test, and deployment workflows across development, staging, and production with documented, repeatable release processes
- Implement deployment strategies appropriate to risk: blue/green, canary, or rolling, with automated rollback on failure signals
- Manage container image builds and registry hygiene, including vulnerability scanning in the pipeline before images reach production
- Maintain infrastructure change workflows: pull requests, policy checks, and approvals before anything applies to production
Observability and Reliability
- Engineer monitoring, logging, and alerting stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, CloudWatch, or equivalent), defining metrics that predict failure rather than merely report it
- Establish and track SLOs for critical services; alert on burn rate, not symptom alone
- Maintain infrastructure and deployment runbooks; participate in incident response and post-incident review for platform failures
- Automate recurring operational tasks in Bash or Python, with scripts under version control
- Drive infrastructure patching and image refresh cycles on a defined schedule
Required Qualifications
- Four or more years in DevOps, site reliability, systems engineering, or platform engineering roles
- Professional experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS or Azure), including compute, networking, identity, and managed container services
- Working proficiency with Terraform or equivalent infrastructure-as-code in production including module design and state management, beyond initial provisioning
- Hands-on Kubernetes production experience, or strong container platform depth with a clear path to Kubernetes
- CI/CD pipeline construction with a mainstream tool, including secrets handling and approval gates
- Strong Linux systems administration and Bash scripting; Windows administration capability a plus
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, load balancing, and firewall concepts
- Experience with monitoring and logging stacks in an operational role, capable of building dashboards and alerts from scratch
- Willingness to work on-site or hybrid in El Paso per business needs, with participation in the on-call rotation
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS or Azure certification (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Azure Administrator equivalent)
- GitOps workflow experience (Argo CD or Flux)
- Exposure to platform engineering or internal developer portal initiatives
- Experience operating CI/CD for both application deployments and infrastructure changes in regulated environments (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
- Python development beyond scripting : tooling, integrations, or automation services
- Familiarity with compliance and security scanning integrated into pipelines (SAST, dependency scanning, container scanning)
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range of $120,000-$130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid time off and company-observed holidays
- 401(k) with company match
- Certification reimbursement for cloud credentials
Application Instructions

Candidates selected for interview will discuss an infrastructure change they managed from design through production validation.
We are an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
