Data Platform Engineer (Senior / Principal)
Build the data platform that turns massive datasets into meaningful insights.
Work model: 100% Remote Project duration: December 2026 Seniority: Senior / Principal
THE OPPORTUNITY
Data at scale requires more than infrastructure — it requires thoughtful engineering, high-performance pipelines, and reliable architecture.
We’re looking for Senior and Principal Data Platform Engineers to help build and evolve a large-scale data platform for an international technology company operating in the customer engagement, automation, and data-driven marketing space.
You’ll work on the foundations that make data accessible, enriched, secure, and ready for analytics — from Apache Druid ingestion pipelines and Kafka-based streaming to database optimization and access control.
If you enjoy solving complex data engineering challenges and building systems designed to perform at scale, this project offers an opportunity to make a meaningful technical impact.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
-
Develop and maintain Apache Druid ingestion pipelines and custom extensions, including integrations with external lookup backends.
-
Build and support Kafka-based data pipelines, with potential involvement in Flink-based stream processing.
-
Design and implement pre-aggregation and data enrichment processes.
-
Optimize MySQL queries and database performance in high-scale environments.
-
Develop metadata enrichment mechanisms across multiple data stores.
-
Integrate and maintain Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) solutions across platform components.
-
Work with AWS services, including S3, Aurora, and IAM.
-
Collaborate with engineering teams working on broader data platform and lakehouse initiatives.
-
Contribute to the scalability, performance, and security of a modern analytical data ecosystem.
WHAT YOU BRING
-
Strong hands-on experience with Apache Druid, particularly ingestion pipelines and extension development.
-
Experience building and maintaining Kafka-based data pipelines.
-
Knowledge of Flink or similar stream-processing technologies.
-
Strong understanding of MySQL query optimization and database performance tuning at scale.
-
Experience implementing metadata enrichment across data platforms.
-
Practical experience integrating and maintaining RBAC solutions across multiple data stores.
-
Hands-on experience with AWS, particularly S3, Aurora, and IAM.
-
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate on complex engineering challenges.
NICE TO HAVE
-
Experience with ClickHouse.
-
Familiarity with Apache Iceberg and lakehouse architectures.
-
Knowledge of query federation technologies such as Trino and Amazon Athena.
-
Experience with large-scale analytical platforms and modern data ecosystem integrations.
WHY THIS PROJECT?
-
Remote-first collaboration — work from wherever you do your best engineering.
-
Real data platform challenges — work with ingestion, streaming, enrichment, performance, and access control at scale.
-
Modern data technologies — contribute to an ecosystem built around Apache Druid, Kafka, AWS, and related technologies.
-
Technical impact — help evolve platform capabilities that support data-driven products and analytics.
