**About us** The Early Learning Operations and Monitoring Division leads core funding, operational policy, data collection and reporting, financial monitoring functions and contract management policy for funded Three\- and Four\-Year\-Old kindergarten programs in Victoria. This includes a number of sector supports and programs to help ensure viable, well managed services that are accessible to all children. The Sector Monitoring sub\-branch leads financial assessment and central monitoring of funded kindergarten providers as well as the newly established Kindergarten Audit and Assurance Program.**About the opportunity** We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced financial analyst to join the Early Learning Monitoring and Compliance (ELMC) team within the Sector Monitoring sub\-branch. You will play a pivotal role in:* Comprehensive analysis of financial viability and risks of funded kindergarten providers * Providing advice on service provider contracting or financial issues * Preparing key communication materials such as written reports, PowerPoints and visualisations. * Supporting internal training with financial expertise * Facilitating setup and closure of service agreements in the Service Agreement Management System

**About you*** Proven ability to apply critical thinking and problem\-solving skills in different contexts and to identify trends, patterns, risks and opportunities. * Demonstrated experience analysing and interpreting audited financial statements with footnotes. * Effective written and verbal communication skills that is clear to non\-financial stakeholders. * Solid understanding of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) * A proactive self\- starter, with an ability to work in a complex, sensitive and fast\-paced environment with a high degree of autonomy. * Experience conducting independent external audits will be viewed favourably

**Mandatory requirements*** Accreditation with CA/CPA/CFA/CIA or equivalent or working towards accreditation. * Experience analysing audited financial statements with accompanying footnotes.
