We are seeking a General Manager – Power Solutions to establish and lead a new division delivering modular hybrid power systems to Western Australia’s mining, resources and edge-of-grid infrastructure markets.

About the role:
This is an opportunity to build a business from the ground up, supported by our vertically integrated and established engineering, manufacturing, electrical construction and site services teams. You will own the division’s strategy, client relationships, profit and loss, and project delivery as principal contractor.
The division will deliver systems from 500 kW to 10 MW, combining solar, battery storage and gas or diesel generation. Products range from rapidly deployable hybrid units and modular stand-alone power systems to complete bespoke turnkey power solutions for mining operations and remote infrastructure.
Your initial focus will be on developing the client pipeline, turning reference designs into costed, repeatable products, securing supply partners and building the team to deliver them.
Responsibilities include:
- Build strong relationships with mining clients, infrastructure owners and equipment suppliers, converting opportunities into contracted projects.
- Lead divisional strategy, budgets, forecasting and profit and loss, with accountability for pricing, risk and margin.
- Oversee estimating, tenders, negotiations and lump-sum or design-and-construct head contracts.
- Develop standardised product offerings and supply arrangements, drawing on in-house capabilities and Quanta group procurement.
- Secure principal-contractor prequalification and lead projects from bid through construction, commissioning and handover.
- Recruit and develop the Power Solutions team, establishing practical systems and technical governance.
- Actively promote safety, quality and customer satisfaction across all divisional activities.
About You:
- You are a technically credible power delivery leader with an active WA network and the drive to build a new business. You are comfortable opening client relationships, discussing hybrid plant integration with engineers and presenting commercial proposals to senior executives.
- Substantial experience delivering off-grid or behind-the-meter hybrid power systems for WA mining, resources or remote infrastructure clients.
- A proven contractor-side delivery record, with personal accountability for project pricing, contract risk, client relationships and commercial outcomes.
- An electrical or power engineering background, with a strong understanding of solar, battery storage, generation, protection, power management and SCADA integration.
- Established relationships across WA mining clients, power equipment suppliers and potential engineering and delivery team members.
- Experience building a team, product line, division or business, with a practical approach to business development and delivery.
- Experience with modular or prefabricated systems, product standardisation and international procurement will be highly regarded.
- Currently based in Western Australia and available for regional site travel.
