Role overview
Are you an experienced frontend developer looking for the right place to build solutions that matter? Join a global team working on OpenGDDS, a digital product that supports nonclinical research through semantic search and automated document creation. The agentic system is built across Databricks and bespoke AWS infrastructure, with the frontend developed in Vue.js.
You will take ownership of the design, development, and evolution of the user interface, working closely with UX/UI, backend, data, AI, infrastructure, and product colleagues in a cross-functional, international setup.
- Develop, maintain, and improve scalable frontend applications using TypeScript and Vue.js
- Translate UX/UI designs and product requirements into responsive, accessible, and maintainable user experiences
- Contribute to frontend architecture and communicate clearly about what can be built, scaled, and maintainedIntegrate the frontend with backend services, APIs, and search capabilities across the OpenGDDS platform
- Build MVPs and experiment with new approaches while keeping a strong focus on quality and long-term maintainability
- Support engineering quality through unit testing, end-to-end testing, code reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous improvementCollaborate across locations and disciplines to deliver effective solutions for researchers and scientific stakeholders
Requirements:
- BSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or another relevant field
- user interaction, holding workshops, fast prototyping, figma mcp, fluent english
- must have - our front ender tools: vue3, ts, tailwind, vite, inertia.js, vitest/playwright, figma
- experience working in a regulated industry and with complex data (preferably early research in pharma, but finance/banking could be transferable)
- scientific background/experience interacting with scientific users would be preferred
- experience with building the front-end for RAG/agentic systems would also be preferred
- At least 5 years of experience in frontend software development
- Strong knowledge of TypeScript and Vue.js (or a similar SPA framework such as React or Angular)
- Broad understanding of software development, including system architecture and coding for scale
- Ability to communicate technical possibilities and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues
- Practical interest in experimentation and building MVPs
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of ownership, openness to feedback, and reliability in meeting deadlines
- Fluent English, written and spoken
Nice to have:
- Python
- Experience with one or more AWS services
- Jest for unit testing
- Playwright for end-to-end testing
