Your Team:

Join Flair’s Commercial team, where sales strategy and distribution partnerships support revenue growth and market expansion across the airline’s network. Reporting to the Director, Revenue Management and Sales, the Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that expand market presence, strengthen distribution channels, and drive revenue growth. This role builds and manages relationships with travel agencies, corporate customers, online travel agencies (OTAs), global distribution systems (GDS), and other commercial partners.

The Sales Manager identifies new business opportunities, evaluates channel performance, and develops initiatives across B2B, B2B2C, and B2C channels to increase market penetration and customer acquisition. Working closely with Revenue Management, Network Planning, Marketing, Digital, Finance, and Customer Experience, the role uses sales performance and market insights to identify opportunities, strengthen partnerships, and support the Company’s overall commercial objectives.

This role is an on-site position based at one of our offices in Calgary, AB; Vancouver, BC; or Toronto, ON.

A Day in the Life:

Sales Strategy & Distribution Management

  • Develop and execute sales and distribution strategies that drive revenue growth across direct, indirect, online, offline, B2B, B2B2C, and B2C channels.
  • Manage and optimize the Company's distribution portfolio, identifying opportunities to expand market reach, improve channel performance, and maximize revenue.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with travel agencies, online travel agencies (OTAs), global distribution systems (GDS), corporate customers, distribution partners, and other commercial stakeholders.
  • Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and implement new sales and distribution partnerships that support the Company's commercial objectives.
  • Lead the development and growth of the Company's group sales program, identifying new business opportunities and improving overall commercial performance.
  • Monitor distribution channel performance and implement initiatives that improve market penetration, customer acquisition, and revenue generation.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Management to align pricing, inventory availability, and distribution strategies that maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Work closely with Commercial, Marketing, Digital, Customer Experience, Finance, and other internal stakeholders to support sales initiatives, promotional campaigns, and commercial priorities.

Commercial Performance & Business Development

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on sales performance, distribution channel effectiveness, revenue trends, booking performance, and key commercial metrics.
  • Analyze market conditions, competitor activity, customer behaviour, and industry trends to identify new business opportunities and recommend commercial strategies.
  • Develop business cases, sales forecasts, performance reports, and recommendations that support strategic decision-making and revenue growth.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for sales, distribution partners, and commercial initiatives, implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Lead contract discussions and ongoing commercial relationships with distribution partners, ensuring agreements support the Company's revenue and distribution objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales processes, distribution effectiveness, customer experience, and operational efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Represent the Company at industry events, commercial meetings, trade shows, and partner engagements to strengthen relationships and expand market opportunities.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Sales, Aviation Management, Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in sales, business development, account management, commercial partnerships, or distribution management.
    • Demonstrated experience developing and executing sales strategies that drive revenue growth and expand market presence.
    • Proven experience managing relationships with travel agencies, corporate customers, distribution partners, online travel agencies (OTAs), global distribution systems (GDS), or other commercial partners.
    • Experience identifying, negotiating, and implementing new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
    • Experience analyzing sales performance, market trends, and distribution channel performance to support commercial decision-making.
    • Experience preparing sales forecasts, business cases, performance reports, and revenue recommendations.
    • Experience collaborating with Revenue Management, Marketing, Commercial, Digital, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to support sales and revenue initiatives.
    • Experience within the airline, travel, tourism, hospitality, or another consumer-focused industry is considered a strong asset.
    • Previous leadership or people management experience is considered an asset.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong knowledge of sales strategy, business development, distribution channel management, and commercial partnership development.
    • Excellent negotiation, influencing, and relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships across the travel industry.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret sales data, identify market opportunities, and develop data-driven recommendations.
    • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders, executive leadership, and external partners.
    • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to evaluate sales performance, distribution channel effectiveness, and revenue opportunities.
    • Proficiency with travel agency distribution systems and booking platforms, including Sirev, Softvoyage, Global Distribution Systems (GDS), or similar travel distribution technologies.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Experience using customer relationship management (CRM) systems and sales reporting tools to manage pipelines, customer relationships, and performance reporting.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines.
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Revenue Management, Marketing, Digital, Finance, Customer Experience, and other cross-functional teams.
    • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and adaptable, with the ability to identify new business opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
  • Requirements:
    • Clear criminal record check and satisfactory employment references.
    • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
