A well-established accounting practice is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant to join their team. This position is fully remote.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric.
- Relevant qualification in Bookkeeping, Accounting or Finance.
- 2–5 years' experience within an accounting practice is essential.
- Experience with bookkeeping to trial balance.
- Knowledge of VAT and general accounting principles.
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, Pastel or similar.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform bookkeeping to trial balance.
- Process debtors, creditors and cashbooks.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and journal entries.
- Assist with monthly management accounts.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Assist with payroll where required.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Liaise with clients regarding accounting queries.
- Assist with year-end preparations and audit requirements.
- Provide support to the Practice Manager and gradually take on additional supervisory
