Minimum qualifications
- Grade12(Matric)isoftenpreferredorrequired,dependingontheemployer.
- Basic English communication and reading skills.
- Basic mathematics and record-keeping skills.
- Previous manufacturing or packaging experience is an advantage.
- Pharmaceutical manufacturing or GMP training is beneficial for pharmaceutical positions.
2. Technical skills
- Abilitytosetup,operate,andmonitorblisterpackagingmachines.
- Knowledge of machine start up, shutdown, and basic trouble shooting.
- Ability to check packaging materials, such as PVC, aluminium foil, and sealing foil.
- Ability to inspect blister packs for defects, such as poor sealing, damaged cavities, missing tablets, or incorrect printing.
- Understanding of production targets and quality standards.
- Abilitytocompleteproductionrecordsandreportmachinefaults.
3. Main job responsibilities
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practice(GMP)and Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs).
- Clean and sanitise the machine and production area.
- Perform line clearance before starting a new batch or product.
- Checkbatchnumbers,expirydates,andprintedpackagingdetails.
- Monitor machine speed, temperature ,and sealing quality.
- Record production quantities, rejects, downtime, and material usage.
- Report breakdowns and quality problems to the supervisor or maintenance team.
- Wear the required personal protective equipment(PPE).
- Meet daily production targets while maintaining productquality.
