Job Title: Senior Business Analyst – Network & Data Center Infrastructure

About the Role
We are looking to hire a Senior Business Analyst in Toronto, ON to drive a complex, large-scale infrastructure initiative. The successful candidate will lead business analysis efforts focused on a network optimization and data center management transition project.
In this role, you will act as the strategic bridge between our core business units, engineering teams, and external infrastructure vendors. We are seeking an individual with a minimum of 10 years of experience in business analysis, infrastructure project lifecycles, and stakeholder management. You should not only understand data and processes but also the day-to-day technical realities of enterprise routing, switching, data center hardware, and cloud/hybrid topologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Elicitation & Architecture Mapping: Partner with network engineers, data center operations teams, and executive stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze requirements for data center migrations, capacity planning, and network hardware refreshes.
- Process & Topology Optimization: Evaluate current data center workflows, network traffic patterns, and circuit utilization. Identify bottlenecks and design scalable, resilient architecture pipelines that minimize downtime and maximize throughput.
- Project Delivery & Vendor Transition: Lead business analysis for infrastructure initiatives, including vendor transitions (MPLS/SD-WAN providers), colocation migrations, server hardware refreshes, and cloud integration strategies.
- Disaster Recovery & Change Management: Develop clear technical documentation, failover runbooks, user stories, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Coordinate with network technicians to ensure seamless, low-risk maintenance windows.
- Data-Driven Infrastructure Insights: Analyze network performance metrics, bandwidth consumption trends, and data center power/cooling KPIs to build robust business cases for technical upgrades and capital expenditure allocation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 10–15 years as a Business Analyst, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects specifically within enterprise networking, data center migrations, or telecom infrastructure environments.
- Technical Background: Deep familiarity with core networking and data center concepts, including TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), SD-WAN, firewalls, structured cabling, storage area networks (SAN), and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Frameworks & Tools: High proficiency with ITIL frameworks, Agile/Scrum delivery models, and ITSM platforms (such as ServiceNow or Jira). Strong hands-on experience using MS Excel (for data analysis) and MS Visio (for network/data center topology diagramming).
- Education: Completion of a University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a knack for root-cause analysis. Solid communication skills with the absolute ability to present technical infrastructure concepts to non-technical executive stakeholders.
- Language: Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Pay: $70.00-$90.00 per hour
